I just bought a new ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard with the Nvidia Soundstorm APU. (Which I heard was awsome, especially for an MB APU)

Unfortunately, since the user guide that came with the MB was rather weak, I have no clue now what S/PDIF jack out Surround L/R and Center/LFE audio are for, and how they are different from Line in/Bass center, Line out/Front speaker and Micro/Rear Speaker Out? I assume that it has something to do that you use those if you want a dolby digital sound, and the Line in, Out, Mic is only to be used if dolby is not supported (In other words since I have Surround jacks they become useless to me, unless used only as input jacks for mic etc.)

Like I said before, I am really just guessing here, and I would appreciate a clarification before I go out and buy me some 5.1 speakers.

Thanks a lot,
DrAmar

Ps. On a great note, it looks like I have made enough posts on this forum to get the honorary title of "newbie" as oposed to "stranger" :)

I don't even believe in JEBUS!
Homer, you are on the flight to a remote island where you will be doing some missionary work.
SAVE ME JEBUS!!!!!!

Out goes out, in comes in, and all the digital channels can be decoded from the S/P-DIF Out connection.

IGNORE THEM! I already told you what to do with digital speakers. The other connections are for analog speakers.
