SABERTOOTH Z77 Problem

Hi.
I just updated my BIOS, when it restarted my screen was all black.
Nothing appears.
I tried thE CMOS jumper a lot of times, nothing happened.
Also tried to use the CD Rom to make the mobo load the BIOS, but nothing happened.
I also tried the USB Flashback, nothing happened.
I press every possible key like DEL, F5, F9, but nothing happens, my screen stays all black.

Can someone help me please!

Rule of thumb, if you do not have any problems do not update BIOS it can result in bricking the motherboard. Bad flash and the board is dead.

Feel your pain, man. Do you get anything else? Lights on mobo, fans spin, beeps? Try another power supply?

the usb flash back will work you have to put a fat 32 formatted usb stick in the right usb port marked usb flash back. you aslo have to rename the bios file it on the asus web page under doc for the sabertooth. you dont need to power the mb up to use the flash back or have a cpu or ram installed. you just need green power led of the mb to be on. when you press for 3 sec the flash back button on the back of the mb. it should start flashing. when it reads the bios file the flashing speed will change then the blue led light on the flash back button will go out. before you try again look to see if the cpu...gpu or ram led light is on red. if the ram led is on hard try hitting the ram ok button and see if the mb will post. if it still red and no post take out all the ram but one dimm in a1. if the ram led still red try moving the dimm to b1 or b0. make sure the ram all the way in.

Thanks for the help.
After spending some hours trying to fix it, I got it.
I just hit the PAUSE BREAK key, then the PC showed a fast message and restarted. After it restarted, the screen was all black again, but that message that appeared made me want to try the jumper again and it worked.

I tried the USB flash back, but I don't know why it didn't work. I'll check to see if my pendrive was formatted in FAT32, maybe that's why it didn't work.

The ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 utility is an auto recovery tool that allows you to restore the
BIOS file when it fails or gets corrupted during the updating process. You can restore a
corrupted BIOS file using the motherboard support DVD or a USB flash drive that contains
the BIOS file.
The BIOS file in the motherboard support DVD may be older than the BIOS file published
on the ASUS official website. If you want to use the newer BIOS file, download the file at
support.asus.com and save it to a USB flash drive.
Recovering the BIOS
To recover the BIOS:
1. Turn on the system.
2. Insert the motherboard support DVD to the optical drive, or the USB flash drive
containing the BIOS file to the USB port.
3. The utility automatically checks the devices for the BIOS file. When found, the utility
reads the BIOS file and enters ASUS EZ Flash 2 utility automatically.
4. The system requires you to enter BIOS Setup to recover BIOS setting. To ensure
system compatibility and stability, we recommend that you press <F5> to load default
BIOS values.

DO NOT shut down or reset the system while updating the BIOS! Doing so can cause
system boot failure!

USB BIOS Flashback's typical problem is folks either forget to extract the BIOS file and/or forget to rename it; it must be renamed to ---> Z77ST.CAP

Frankly, given the choice between ASUS EZ Flash 2 Utility (Tools menu) or USB BIOS Flashback I choose the ASUS EZ Flash2 method.

It's always a good idea to F5 the BIOS to default, update the BIOS, and then tweak the BIOS (UEFI) as needed.

hi i am thinking to buy a asus sabertooth z77 motherboard, but the thing is atm i have already bought the cpu cooler and the graphics card.. the cpu cooler is a Cooler Master X6 and graphics card is a XFX Radeon HD 6790 1GB DDR5 dual fan.. i just want to be asure wether these two will fit inside the Asus sabertooth z77 without any problem? pls help me out 🙁

I was also going to try to update to that latest version, apparently more stability for Windows 8. I noted you said it needs to be updated to Z77ST.CAP. So this is after I download the file from ASUS and extract. In the manual the file they show says SABERZ77ST.CAP, should I name it this or just the Z77ST.CAP or have both on the USB stick just in case?

Did it, just named it Z77ST.CAP, I don't think it matters what it's called as long as it's .CAP. Just put it in the USB3 in the back, went to EZ Flash 2 Util. Selected the file and away it went.
