[citation][nom]sacre[/nom]Why would they? PC is the most heavily pirated. Then we have kids and idiots come here and claim "ITS NOT BECAUSE OF PIRACY, HERP" what was it, 3.5 million copies pirated for Crysis? Sure, maybe some of them bought the game, but I know a "pirates" mindset and once you have the game and play it, you don't buy it. That is 3.5 million sales gone. 3-5 years of work, 3.5 million sales gone.Yea, i'd be moving to the Xbox/PS line too. You're killing yourselfs people. Only 1 way to change that, buy the damn game. And don't go blaming DRM shit either, its just an excuse to pirate AND it doesn't make it ok to steal a 60 dollar game either.Christ.[/citation]
Without demos, what else are PC users going to do to determine if the game works and isn't total crap? Look at dark souls; great game but no demo and that's one game which certainly needs one as it could be either good, or OTT cheap kills all the time. If it wasn't for pirating, I would own a few less games. If the game sucks, it gets uninstalled within 30 - 45 mins which is what I'd expect from a demo.

Is this a surprise to anyone? Halo is Microsoft's bread and butter for getting people to buy their Xbox consoles, they're not just going to release their next console blockbuster on PC for years.

And I don't have plans to buy a Crapbox so I'll just have to make do with one of the following: Max Payne 3, Sleeping Dogs, Prototype 2, Dark Souls, FTL, Testament of Sherlock Holmes, Dishonored, War of the Roses, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, aerofly FS, Wargame European Escalation... all games I want to play but just can't find the time.

Cocksuckers. I now have to go to that excuse of a gaming machine, blow away money, and play with no KB/M just because you too lazy to port it over. Seems fair M$.

If Microsoft released a PC version I would buy it and promote it to friends. I don't own a 360. I will not buy one. To play 360 games I just find a friend who has one and play cooperative with them. I'm more than happy to purchase quality software for my gaming PC. Don't write me off because pirates who would never pay for content.

I wouldve bought it on PC as opposed to xbox.. FPS is so much better than a mouse, and the PC gaming community is always filled with fewer 12 year olds, and more mature players.

But for the game, i was pretty impressed it looked that good on the xboxs hardware.

@sacre: "That is 3.5 million sales gone. 3-5 years of work, 3.5 million sales gone."

You're assuming that everyone who downloaded it would have also bought it if piracy were somehow impossible. A lot of times people pirate games just to see what it looks like. For instance I never had any desire to play Crysis. I "pirated" it as a benchmark for my pc at the time. However I would have never bough t it anyway so there was never any sale lost. I went to do the same thing for Crysis2, and because I was unable to find a good pirate copy, I simply never bothered pirating it at all. So as you can see, Crytek was never going to make a dime from me either way, so it doesnt really matter what I did with it.

Software dev's do stupid shit like look at how many seeds/leechers there are across every single torrent site and then act like those are all lost sales because every single one of those people would have bought the game if torrenting were impossible. LOL.

[citation][nom]sacre[/nom]Why would they? PC is the most heavily pirated. " what was it, 3.5 million copies pirated for Crysis?
That's an estimated number based on how many time a torrent link was downloaded. Who knows if they click on it more then ounce or even downloaded the torrent.

I know I shouldn't even take the bait, but...

I have never downloaded a game illegally (nudge nudge wink wink). That being said...

Of the games that I have never downloaded illegally, I have always acquired a legitimate copy of a game that I spent any significant time playing. Period. I don't know why the guy I quoted below is getting downrated, because he is absolutely, 100% correct. Developers used to trust that the games they made were good enough that they could give away the first seven levels (or whatever) and people would buy the rest...and they were right. I don't know why that's changed.

I wonder if this goes back to Halo 2 PC being such a POS. Really, it was. The online browsing and match making experience was a failure.

I wish they'd port every newer Halo game to PC. I refuse to buy a XBOX 360 just to play those games. Hell, I'm still proudly a Halo 1 PC gamer.

[citation][nom]RipperjackAU[/nom]You know there IS a version of HALO 4 on PC, it's the development builds that were created as the game was made. It's not like the dev's used XBox 360 consoles to make the game.[/citation]
Make the game, no. To test the game, yes. I'm guessing you don't realise that the 360 pad works on the PC....

I would buy it. Halo is one of those games I really enjoyed playing on pc. the first halo, surprisingly, still has a good following keeping servers online and I occasionaly play it. I must say, that by the looks of things on these comments, M$ would be losing a big opportunity to make money with a port.

I think the reason why halo 2 sold so few on pc was because of that "windows vista only" stamped somewhere on the box and it costing like $52 2 years after launch.

[citation][nom]Cy-Kill[/nom]Well, they never released 2 or 3 to PC, so what would've made 4 any different![/citation]
Actually they did Halo 2 and that was it but It's no surprised since they were just ports and who wants to play a port of a console game and not one that's a game made for PC.

By releasing titles exclusively for Xbox Microsoft is shooting themselves in the foot. Are they treating PC as a competition?? but at the same time make OS for it. It is like they are contradicting themselves.

No Big Deal, there are plenty of good games available for PC anyway and i am sure there are a lot
more comming in the weeks and months ahead. If they want to be narrow minded, than let them be, I
am not going to buy an xbox360 just to play Halo and most people won't either, and that is what they think people will do, boy are they wrong.

And to that news, I direct your attention to the full list of user reviews on Metacritic.

http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/halo-4/user-reviews

Curiously, the quantity of positive and negative reviews is way off, until you pull the full list.

Metacritic scores are probably the most corruptible of any game rating site, if for no other reason than everyone thinks it's impossible.

But if you get enough users to vote and write, their average score never lies (case in point, Diablo 3). So what does the community say here?

Despite everyone (including many fake accounts as always) trying to give it 10/10, and many others countering with 0/10, the truth is plain to see if you read through: It's an accurate 5-6/10 - as in Disappointing, Nothing Special.

MS is two faced. They spout all their garbage about promoting the PC gaming industry but turn around and have XBOX specific releases only. Frankly I don't give a rats a$$ about halo but MS should at least be honest about who they are really.

Ive only played Halo CE on pc, never owned an XboX or console for that matter since Dreamcast (PS before that) and there was no way Microsoft was going to force me to upgrade to Vista to play Halo 2 :/

Was anyone expecting Halo 4 to be released on the PC? The only Halo games that were launched to the PC were the first two Halo's from the original Xbox. No Halo game from the Xbox 360 was released on the PC and Halo 4 isn't an exception.

They really need to port it to Windows and make the port a Windows 8 only that would help push the sales of Windows 8 witch is a very good OS that need as many exclusive games as possible. That is the way I see it if you want to play games you will need Windows 8 to do it.

I like Halo as a shooter. But I've never played it beyond the two versions available for PC. Put Halo 4 on the Windows 8 store and i'd buy it

Here we go again, Pirates making cl[citation][nom]lolhalo[/nom]@sacre: "That is 3.5 million sales gone. 3-5 years of work, 3.5 million sales gone."You're assuming that everyone who downloaded it would have also bought it if piracy were somehow impossible. What the hell do you expect them to do? Sit back and carefully analyze the data to make a different claim? The message is clear, Pirating is insanely high on PC's as oppose to any other platform.

And yes, i'd assume FIRST that all those copies were pirated and the "pirates" never bought the game before i'd assume the whole game was downloaded just so they could go "Oh ok, i'll buy it now".

Not saying that won't happen, but c'mon man, really? Pirates defend pirating as much as possible, find as many variables as possible just so they can say it isn't "bad". Its called denial, regardless of how you look at it you "Pirates" are the ones who are killing the PC industry (That, and the fact that its expensive to have a computer up to date to play recent games and easier to play on consoles).

Halo 1 and 2 were both available on PC and still are. Halo 3 and Reach are not available.

OT: I didn't expect to see Halo 4 on PC, nor will I ever. Microsoft doesn't care about PC gamers and we shouldn't care about them.
