Whenever you get a game that involves role playing, it's going to attract the freaks like a magnet to iron.

Depends what you mean by "freaks"... I play both FPS and RPG, though I favor RPGs more, but that's my personal preference (also because many FPS plainly suck nowadays xD), and I don't see what is so "freaky" about either genre. I'm really unhappy with BioWare doing this; I remember the good old days when Fox News flamed them over Mass Effect and BW was like "lol, GTFO, we don't care" - and what do we see today? THIS move just stinks of BW's fear to be flamed if their games aren't "politically correct". Well, guess what? Instead they'll be flamed for caring for minorities too much!

What's next? You know, there're also minorities who hate games altogether or minorities who hate Star Wars or minorities who who hate MMOs or minorities who... etc. Are you gonna cater to them as well? 😀

Actually, there's one more thing... having LIs in single-player RPGs is fine and adds nicely to gameplay if they're written well, but having it in an MMO is just... stupid, IMO.

to all the hetro people who say you don't want the gay material it's pandering etc - how would you feel if as a hetro man you were in the minority and were forced to play as a gay man?

I would love to know how many guys playing as lesbians will be in relationships with lesbians that are acutally guys.

To be fair to bioware they have attracted a lot of free publicity with this. but bioware might encounter problems when non gay people play as gay characters but use camped-up stereotyped trolling like behaviour. bioware could find themsleves in trouble. just my opinion

Why is this rated down? Because one person rated it down for no reason, then everyone else rated it down? This particular comment completely agrees with some other comments that are rated +5 or more. It's like whenever a comment is rated down 2 or more, everyone thinks "gee, I'd better rate it down since a bunch of other people rated it down!" The same thing goes vice versa. The rating system is so corrupt on tom's.

c3p0 was a robot. He was neither gay or straight. All aspects of his personality had nothing to do with his sexuality, because robots do not have a sexuality.

No one gives a crap if you eat at Ihop, and no one gives a crap if you play TOR. Grow a set, we live in a world with different kinds of people. If a game is giving the option to have sex it has to put the option for gay sex in too, as gay people also use PCs and play MMOs. Will I be playing a gay toon...UH NO, cuz I'm not gay. Will i bitch and moan so a gay person cant play a gay toon....UH NO, Cuz I dont have closeted gay tendencies matched with self hate issues. Are you guys afraid that the game will turn you gay? Games cant turn you into anything. Do violent games turn you into a violent criminal? Does playing a game with optional gay parts in it make you a Gay person? Lets face it if this game makes you fuck a dude you were gay long before TOR came out. When I start to see jedi and sith using force powers to hail a cab I might change my mind but the reality is nothing in a game will turn you into anything.
