Hi folks, my Samsung ssd 840 evo is randomly running slow when i start up my pc. Sometimes its running smooth and sometimes it's really crap. When I run samsung Magician software it results in the following benchmark:

ejik0q793

The only thing I can do for temporally resolving the problem is first changing to the performance plan (non-Max Perf), restart my pc, change it to Max Performance and restart.
Then I get the following benchmark:
az84z9ozb

My BIOS and Chipset got the latest firmware/Drivers, I installed the latest firmware for the SSD and enabled RAPID mode...

Anyone an idea?

What is the model of your motherboard? If you have the SSD connected to a secondary SATA storage controller, that could well be the problem as many ASMedia and Marvell secondary controllers are problematic. The 840 EVO is known to have issues though and so far I don't know if there's been a permanent fix for the performance related issues that plague that drive.

Latest Firmware update for EVO 840 is dated April 2015, Firmware ISO Version - EXT0DB6Q, which has a description that says, "Supports Advanced Performance Optimization in Magician 4.6"

So that means, you should also have the latest Samsung Magician 4.6, which has "Advanced Performance Optimization" to keep the latest firmware in motion. I think by saying that they mean the Advanced Performance Optimization option is required for the firmware algorithm to work properly.

Download both the Firmware ISO Version - EXT0DB6Q & Samsung Magician 4.6 here - http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/global/html/support/downloads.html?CID=AFL-hq-mul-0813-11000279

"According to Samsung, the algorithm does not operate when the computer or device is powered down. The firmware update will be effective only if allotted sufficient run-time for the new algorithm to begin self-optimization. If the computer or device is frequently powered down, or left powered down for an extended period of time, Samsung recommends using the Advance Performance Optimization feature in Magician 4.6 to set the algorithm into motion."
