Hello, I know very little about technology & hardware. As such I’m looking for a little advice.
I’m seeking an internal SSD for my PS5. The primary reason for this is increased storage space, and so I am looking for a 2TB variant.
I have read that the Samsung 990 Pro is an excellent choice, however the heatsink-inclusive version is almost £100 more expensive than the equivalent Samsung 980 Pro.
My questions as such:
1. As I get extensive use out of my PS5 am I to believe the heatsink is rather important?
2. In terms of performance, is the 980 an upgrade over whatever is in the PS5 by default?
3. If so, what does it actually improve (eg loading times, file transfer, download speed)?
4. Would you recommend the 980 over the 990, given my main concern is storage space and the price difference is vast?
Thank you.
