well. most of the ram manufacturers use either jmicron or samsung chips for their ram sticks.
But, you can't pick ram based on brand name alone. Manufacturers hand pick high quality chips with overclocking potential and use them in high-performance RAM.

to see if that particular stick is any good - give us some more info, specifically - the timings, which look like: X-X-X-XX , e.g.: 4-4-4-12
