[SOLVED] Samsung magician error

Hi, so if i start up samsung magician i get this error:

my ssd is a 870 evo and it worked perfectly like 3 weeks ago but since some days it give an error, idk how to fix this please help me.

age old answer: tried uninstalling and reinstalling again with a restart between?
grab a new installer from their website while you at it, an older version can also be reason for error

could try an older version, according to the link techpowerup have all the previous versions still

Try a clean boot and see if it changes anything - make sure to read instructions and make sure NOT to disable any Microsoft services or windows won't load right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

if clean boot fixes it, it shows its likely a startup program. You should, over a number of startups. restart the programs you stopped to isolate the one that is to blame.

all it does is temporarily stops anything other than windows loading at startup.

does it run at sstartup or is that if you open it after startup?

It seems to be directly related to windows start up. If you deselect "start with windows: in settings, and run the application after windows is running, it seems to work perfectly.

I have windows 10 and the latest version (6.3
)

i have that too, but i don't have magician running at start up. Do you?
its not really necessary. All you don't get it auto updates of its version. And that is not hard to work around.

Do you get that error if you run it after startup with it not set to run with start up?

When i startup windows i need to start it up myself and then i get the error i can also share the log if you want

Samsung aren't even answering that question.

1. right click start
2. choose run...
3. type winver and press enter
4. current version is 21H1

wonder if its a windows version thing.

i wouldn't think Samsung need you to be an OS thats only been out a few weeks.

what do you use it for that another hd scanner can't do? over provisioning is set and forget, so its not that...
Do use rapid?
not being difficult but if Samsung won't even offer a solution, your best bet is use something else if you can.

you can't run it in safe mode as it uses drivers.
try the clean boot and see if it makes any difference

don't update it if it works. for you
