I have a Samsung smart tv and I have connected it wirelessly 2 days ago. It was working fine after the initial set up but now none of the apps work. I have done a network test and it confirms that it is connected to the internet with a strong signal.

I click on the apps and it takes a while before the error message comes up with saying the network is not connected, I then run a network test and it confirms that it is connected to the internet with a strong signal!

I have turned everything on and off again but still not working. Can anybody help?

Solution
Yes I found the answer, click on the menu button on your remote, then go to network settings. Set the DNL manually to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 and that should do the trick. Let me know if it worked for you

yes turn off the tv and unplug for 1/2 hr then plug it in and try agin it should work.

So even though I can connect now. I'm still having problems with streaming. Keeps on saying there is a connection problem. Try again later. Or there was a problem playing this video. This is on Hulu Plus, You Tube and Netflix. And I have been having these problems for weeks now leading up to the server issue.
I might get Chromecast as a back up. But for now I have to watch on my tablet or PC.
Is anyone else having these problems?

yeah Terif, mine just came back on by itself and nothing I had done the day before made any difference. So hopefully by the time you read this, yours is working normally. and you know, I have never been very happy with the smarthub and internet on this tv.....I have always (and I noticed it still doing it yesterday after the smarthub was back up and running) had a problem with the audio and video separating on the samsung tv when watching youtube videos...the audio will go silent for about 5 seconds while the video continues, and then the video will stop while the audio catches up. It does it a lot and its very irritating. It seems to occur mostly on gaming videos like World of Tanks replays on youtube that I enjoy watching. People will say that its my wifi, but I doubt that because I have the most advanced router the cable company offers, and it does not happen to any of the 6 other computers in the house, just the Samsung tv....and that includes tablets that are working correctly on the same youtube video while situated right beside the tv set when its malfunctioning, so you cant say, oh its the location of the tv set in relation to the router like some people will say. So frankly I have never been very happy with the internet portion of my Samsung tv. Mind you, its a 60 inch plasma model and the picture is excellent. But the smart hub portion of the set leaves quite a lot to be desired and this shut down certainly didnt help.

The answer is to RESET the Smart Hub.

This is not the same as resettiing the TV. In simple terms, you have two sets of software inside your smart TV; one looks after the TV side of things, and the other looks after the smart Apps side. Most people when they get this problem try resetting their TV, but they don't reset the Smart Hub -- so the problem doesn't go away.

Basically when you reset the Smart Hub, you are getting the Hub and your router to shake hands again. You will have to reinput your router password if you are running a secure network. People have complained in this forum that they can't reset the connection fully, from scratch, between their TV (really the Hub) and their router. This is how you do it....

In the Smart Hub, select "Tools" (look right down to the bottom edge of the screen, towards the right). In the "Tools" menu select "Settings". In the "Settings" menu select "Reset". The unit will then ask you for the password or PIN that you may have created when you orginally set up your TV. If you didn't enter one at that time, the Samsung default is 0000 (zero, zero, zero zero).

The unit will then reset itself - and if there is a fault in the handshaking between the unit and your router, it will reset the connection with the router (asking for the network password if there is one). You will have to accept a couple of "Agreement" pages (which is what you did when you orginally set up the device). >>> You are basically just doing it all again.

Be patient while the Smart Hub will downloads and reinstals the smart Apps. Then you are good to go.

Mine wasn't working so I bought a LAN cable. Connected to the internet then unplugged and turned off the tv. Turne it back on and wireless is working.
Before these steps I also reseted the factory setting on the tv.

Wish someone had a solution for you. I am having the same problem. for the last 2 or 3 days.

I went through that procedure the first day of the shutdown and it did not make any difference because the shutdown was at the Samsung server. Not saying it isn't a useful thing to do though because rebooting a computer often helps, but it would not have worked in this case. If however some people are still having issues today, and we know the servers at Samsung are back up and running now, so that would be something to definitely try.

Pulling the power to everything and trying to power the tv on and then rebooting worked. Was slow as a dog and realized it was pulling apps down again. Sad cause most people will never figure this out. If u read this ur the lucky one. Cheers!

Wow! This worked! Thanks. You think Samsung could have told me to do this! I also did a power cycle after doing this.
But still having some issues. Streaming will stop but not as long or as often. I'm thinking it's got to be more than just the TV. Maybe my download speed. I test it on speedtest.net sometimes I get a good result and other times it sucks! I have 2 computers which I now shut off and the streaming tends to do better but not all the time. Can't figure out why

I have totally given up on the Smarthub on my Samsung and bought a Roku 3. Hulu Plus doesn't stream and even though Netflix is better it goes to loading every now and then. Have it up and running and Hulu Plus played for 20 seconds then went to retrieving. Has done this twice so far. Now I'm wondering is this a Hulu problem or my connection speed. Ughhh!I hate technology.

My netflix stopped working 5 days ago . Netflix did an update after that i had no netflix.
so i tried to do an update on my Samsung Smart tv but it said software was up to date
so i called Samsung at 1-800-726-7864 and after checking my firmware they said that
my software was out of date. My tv was not receiving a signal so i had to download
the firmware to a flash drive and connect it to the tv and now everything works fine.
they were a great help. the only thing is you have go to their web site find your model
and download the firmware. call them they will explain everything and help you check
if your firmware is up to date Good Luc
