I have a Samsung smart tv and I have connected it wirelessly 2 days ago. It was working fine after the initial set up but now none of the apps work. I have done a network test and it confirms that it is connected to the internet with a strong signal.

I click on the apps and it takes a while before the error message comes up with saying the network is not connected, I then run a network test and it confirms that it is connected to the internet with a strong signal!

I have turned everything on and off again but still not working. Can anybody help?

Solution
Yes I found the answer, click on the menu button on your remote, then go to network settings. Set the DNL manually to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 and that should do the trick. Let me know if it worked for you
This just worked for me and my Samsung smart TV. I did a manual update by hitting MENU button on my remote. Then went to SUPPORT. Then hit SOFTWARE UPDATE, then ONLINE. And then wait til it updates. Voila.

It turns out there's actually quite an easy fix, if you follow these steps precisely:

1.) Take out the batteries from your remote and then ensure that the tv is set to watch cable tv only.

2.) Unplug the tv from the wall.

3.) Take a sledgehammer and smash it exactly in the center of the screen.

4.) Go out and buy an LG TV and hook it up.

lol. Seriously though, my sympathies. We have a Samsung Stupid TV and we're having the same problems. Today it deleted most of our services (Vudu, Youtube On TV, etc.) then re-installed them as well as literally 15 to 20 other services, then got into an endless cycle of deleting and re-installing. Currently all of the icons are back but it keeps saying "Network Interference, please try again later." I've tried re-setting the tv, unplugging it and plugging it back in, etc., no soap. Going to try re-setting the router and modem later. It's frustrating, I know. I've read that there's some sort of capacitor problems with Samsung Smart TVs that hasn't been resolved. I hate to be a pessimist but the only fix may be taking it in to be repaired, and from what I've heard if the warranty is expired then they consider this to be the customer's problem.
I could be wrong but I think maybe somebody screwed up and now they're trying to wiggle out of paying for it.

One day last week my 5300 Smart TV would not connect to the internet anymore. It has worked since I purchase it a few years ago, but then just stopped. I could not connect to the network via wireless, after making several attempts. I reset the TV to default, which did not work either, but cleared my apps, including Netflix and Amazon.

I researched on the internet (with my computer :)) then tried the suggestion made earlier in this blog, listed below, which did not work for me:

- Unplug the TV from the outlet
- If you have the small cursor button on back of the TV, press it once, and then again. This time hold it in for about 10 seconds
- Leave it unplugged for at least 10 mins and then plug it all back in. Give it a few mins to do it's thing.

Again, internet connection still did not work.

As a last resort, I tried updating the TV software to version 2003, which worked. I was surprised because it downloaded via wireless, even though network settings wouldn't let me connect through any apps before this, so that points to the hardware being fine, but some software change the causing error. After upgrading the version, network settings did work again. I had to reload the apps, but all seems fine now.

That took a while to diagnose, but I am happy it was only software. Very inconvenient though, and for me, frustrating and time consuming.

I have tried everything...reset the tv, changed the DNS, unplugged everything and started it all over and over....nothing seems to work and I have advanced cable modem, supposedly the best there is. Its ridiculous, its working fine for a year or more and the next day nothing at all and cannot connect no matter what I do. after 3 hours working on it this morning I am giving up. I have Samsung tv, Samsung fridge and samsung dishwasher and each of them has an issue right now.

I am having the same issue as Tim. Apps delete and reinstall.

Now I cannot connect to internet although all my LAN devices are working fine

I called Samsung and they have no idea of the issue.
Someone from the tech department is meant to call me back within 24hours.

I have been having connection issues with my 2011 Samsung TV. Freezing and bouncing me out for the last week or so. Now today I do not have any connection. Says network interference. I was chatting with Samsung all day and they kept on telling me call my ISP. Well I finally called them and they told me their server is down. I wasn't aware that they had there own server and why didn't someone tell me this from the start.
A bunch of knuckleheads at Samsung!

And oh, my apps keep on updating. First they were deleted. They must have updated 5 times already.

damn it, If only I could have known this earlier! I just suffered through five hours of installs and updates, with the same issues since yesterday. Actually I only registered in case there was another server crash and the only way to find out is the risen amount of complaints in the forums. So I was right. How very unfortunate.

If anyone wonders what solutions definitively wont wont work, I just wrote it all down:

Model: Samsung UE40ES6300. I recently updated to latest firmware (2004) and it worked fine for a day or two. Now all of a sudden internet connection is not possible. The TV reaches the router router via LAN and even Wireless without problem, but the further connection to internet fails.

I just spend 5 hours trying out everything I came across, WITHOUT SOLUTION:

- factory reset with the key combination (turn off)- info-menu-mute-power. Then in the menu > reset > reset.
- tried another router hardware
- connection via LAN instead of wifi
- Reset it with the joystick on the back (combination is: (turn off > pull the plug) > push the knob on the back once and then again and hold for 10 sec. > wait 10 mins > (plug in >switch on) -> did not work
- trying to reinstall firmware even though internet seems not to work
- reinstall with combination: fast forward / 289 / backwards
- DNS change to Google DNS Servers: 8.8.8.8

i updated the software for the tv and it finally worked..... my head is spinning from trying so many things, but i finally found something that said update, clicked it, i had options such as "by USB" and "ONLINE", i clicked "ONLINE", and it did it's thing.... I now have it working again....good luck people, wish i could give you more direction, just keep looking for it!

I feel your pain man....I spent all morning on this stupid thing....Samsung should have made sure it was on the news. They could have had the word out almost immediately but instead they chose to keep it secret apparently, while millions of people all around the world spent an unproductive and very stressful day....thanks Samsung.

regrettably, there is little that can be done to your TV that will reliably fix this issue. the issue is at the SAMSUNG server farm, not your TV. consequently calling SAMSUNG and waiting is about all that can be done. i would like to add, that our next TV will not be a SAMSUNG. although we like the SAMSUNG picture, the software and associated infrastructure are about the worst. probably the next TV will be an LG with a third party blue ray to pipe the internet through. no more SMART TV for us. we are older and want to watch TV, not sit around and debug the SAMSUNG product. Never again for SAMSUNG.

Just checked, and its still not working at midnight here on the west coast of Canada. A full 20 hours since I first noticed it. If anybody has any new information please post it here.

My tv does connect to the router but not to the web regardless if via LAN or WiFi.

I just contacted Samsung Support and the guy told me that they are working on the servers and therefor the tv claims that no internet connectivity is working. I read on the web that this sort of things happened before but there is no official server maintenance announcement made so we are all kept in the dark.

The guy told me that I have to wait until the maintenance is ready.. witch sucks !

I've reset the TV, and have no longer my favorite apps installed. Without the Smart Hub Server, I cannot reinstall those untill internet connectivity is working. Again.. this sucks !

I contacted Samsung customer service today and they advised that they are working on this server issue and hopfully will be resolved before noon Feb 25, 2015

This just started happening to my TV last night when trying to access iPlayer. Saying much the same - that there is a network error nad should try again later. Can't access any other app either. Worked fine for over a year without issue!

Settings show the wored conection is working but no internet access and should contact ISP. The same ethernet cable and modem port works fine on laptop, with no connection problems.

The DNS 'fix' does not work, neither do the other solutions above.

Have 2 samsung tv's that now have both caught this issue like a bad cold,
Tried 8888 resets , updates and so on without luck .

Route reset etc nothing works plus other devices iPad and so on connect without fault.

Nw considering it has happened on both tv's then surely this is a samsung issue there end , able to update my samsung TV via online yet can't connect as normal as a previous user had also stated .

Stuck on what to do now

Had the same issue the last couple of hours. Hard wired. Went to menu>support>software update>online. Was already up to date, but once I did that was able to finally get smart hub back up. Sorry for short/incomplete sentences, on my phone.

I have two samsung smart tv and a recorder also with smart tv. Suddenly the recorder cannot connect to the internet. Connection to router work. All of the above solutions fail. The two tvs connect, so it is clearly a wrong state of the device. I have two routers one as an accesspoint throgh which our devices connect. I have tried connectibg through the outher router, but same problem. And going back to the access point, no luck. I soppose the only solution is to by a new device, and maybe consider another brand. I have just updated to latest sw, so one should think that a 2+ years known prblem would have been solved.
