Certainly not the best looking phone out there. But still why white?

While I have some reservations about its looks, I can attest it looks a lot better than the iPhone 4s metal lockyoudown coffin. And surely its large screen is a nice feature.

I don't care about this voice recognition crap. You look like a complete tool talking to a phone.

I guess that was the only point of vague commonality with the shoddy iPhone 4s coffin. So to do publicity for Apple the article had to be written from that angle. That is called honoring a backroom deal.

[citation][nom]getreal[/nom]I don't think I have been less impressed with a consumer electronic device since the Galaxy Nexus! Samsung is on a roll here! That's ok, Apple will hopefully sue over the Siri rip off, and then come to the rescue this fall with a REAL phone that actually innovates instead of blatantly steals![/citation]
Not sure if troll or stupid.

The 3G-only model will launch in Europe at the end of this month, and the 4G model will launch in North America, Japan, and Korea during this summer. This is a big improvement on the Galaxy S II, which launched in May of last year in some countries, but didn't arrive in the U.S. until September.

Technically the GSII came out last summer too. Summer goes till Sept. 22nd this year, so Samsung could do a 1 year later release and still be true to their word.

[citation][nom]getreal[/nom]It's an extremely unimpressive phone, but the Sheeple will spend their allowances on it regardless.[/citation]

You spelled iPhone 4S wrong

[citation][nom]del35[/nom]Siri is irrelevant. This phone sounds like it can run circles around the cagy iPhone 4s jail, something the Samsung Galaxy S2 did with no trouble. Who cares about crappy siri? It aint for siri that I will buy this phone, but rather despite siri. Happy the trashy ritina display Samsung makes for Apple is not present in this phone; I guess Samsung new the audience for this phone was, well, smartand not the typical hype driven moron that flocks with Apple.[/citation]

Okay, I understand the Apple hate... but being glad about the phone NOT having a hi-res display? Something is wrong with you. I was hoping for 12MP camera and Full HD screen. While I like Samsung, I'd take a Note over this phone any day.

iphone 4/4S 'retina' is 960×640 TFT. Samsung is 1280x720 Super AMOLED. It makes the iphone look like garbage.

No...no it doesn't. It has a higher resolution display, and that's awesome, granted, but the iPhone is still a solid device with a nice screen.

Guys, I know it's in style here to bash Apple and their products, but come on...just vote with your wallet.

sorry but it says right in apple specs: 960x640

Retina might be nice compared to other smart phone screens, but Super AMOLED blows it (and everything else) out of the water.

Skittle I didn't argue the phones specs. What I was saying was "No...no it doesn't"...make the iPhone's screen look like garbage. ...just my opinion. The HTC Rezound had a big hi-resolution screen as well, but it didn't make every lower resolution/smaller screen look bad.

People do, and an overwhelmingly vast majority choose the iPhone over the equivalent samsteal!

That's what I thought/expected when I got my Droid Razr...but it's Super AMOLED screen wasn't enough to make up for it having pen-tile. I don't think Samsung will make that mistake here...at least it would be very sad if they did.

I hope Samsung gets this phone right. I look forward to seeing one.

Yes, it takes how many models of Samsung and all the other android phone vendors (40+ droids on the market) to barely out sell 3 models of iPhone.

A lot of folks here would say that's because the folks that buy iPhones are ignorant iSheeple (or whatever else is cute to say this week). They're just phones to me...not status symbols, signs of superior intelligence, or what have you. :sarcastic:

Precisely, it is a free market so choose what you want. But why would you choose something with an inferior screen?

Any LCD screen compared to Super AMOLED is inferior (rezound and retina both are lcd). There is just no comparison. Apples screen is nothing special except it has high dpi, though so do many other phones now like the rezound which is also 1280x720.

Samsung has the best display, that's all there is to it. Super AMOLED is better than LCD. If you think otherwise, consider having your eyes examined.

Me too. It's just funny to copy and paste the numerous troll comments, replace "Apple" with "Samsung", and watch the Android kids froth at the mouth through their retainers over it.

How about a better viewing angle with improved display technology? Retina display have been around for years without people noticing. It is only now that the iSheeple locust has become aware of "Retina Displays", thanks to Apple propaganda and the dumbyoudown media chorus.

On a more positive note, fact of the matter is Apple displays are nice, and set a good benchmark, however they have been surpassed by newer technologies and better resolutions on many fronts. Most new super phones surpass 300ppi using LCD, OLED, and LED technologies. Surely Samsung is aware of this and quietly manufactures Apple's Retina display only for Apple and not for Samsung's flagship phones, and if it does it doesn't even mention it.

Nope, not IMO. ...and my eyes are fine. Really. If it is Super AMOLED with pen-tile it's not superior. Google that and you'll see why. Again, I don't think Samsung would mess up and use a pen-tile screen like Motorola did...but I'm just say'n.
