I got that ssd a day ago with X2316RL firmware, installed, checked if it was working properly and benchmarked to have an idea of it actual speed. I used AS SSD tool, and it came out an overall score of 908. Seeing a chart from this forum with the results from that tool (http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/ssd-charts-2013/AS-SSD-Overall-Total-Score,2792.html), I was just very happy with it.
After that I moved my OS to the ssd, doing a clean installation. Benchmarked again, after not noticing much improvement in overall from a Seagate Barracuda 1TB, and it came out a score of only 650.

Is this normal or there is a problem with some configuration? I just bought it cause the price was good, but for a bit less I would get another seagate and I probably would be more satisfied (9x the space).

Thanks in advance, sry for not knowing anything of ssd's :(

Depends on the benchmark/testing tool you use.

See http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/global/html/about/whitepaper08.html
Samsung say The best picture of a Samsung SSD’s performance will come from a system- level, trace-based performance test like PCMark Vantage or PCMark 7 because these tests closely approximate actual consumer usage scenarios.

As long as its somewhere near your ssd spec then that's OK.

I have seen some posters getting poor results because they switch from AHCI in bios and to sata 2.

Thank you for your reply!

I just found out that after I updated my BIOS my configurations where gone, and the storage device was checked as hard drive instead of ssd. Now I get better results in read speed, almost double. Now I do feel more speed and the results as following are probably right.

CrystalDiskMark 3.0.3 x64:

Sequential Read : 473.683 MB/s
Sequential Write : 281.951 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 295.618 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 268.999 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 36.421 MB/s [ 8891.9 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 107.561 MB/s [ 26259.9 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 36.290 MB/s [ 8859.9 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 107.207 MB/s [ 26173.5 IOPS]

Test : 1000 MB [C: 23.3% (27.8/118.9 GB)] (x1)
