Sapphire Radeon 7850 1gb VS 2gb

Hey guys/girls, I wanted to ask if a 2gb Radeon 7850 is much better than a 1gb. I just bought the 1gb and i'm getting some second thoughts about it. Will it be able to play games like Skyrim and BF3 at ultra settings at a resolution of 1366x768 smoothly? Please help! 🙁

Alright. Second question. I have an i3 processor, will it bottleneck my gpu? If so, i'm planning on getting an i7.

Getting a 2GB card is better for resolution 1080p or more.
But at your Resolution you will not cross more than 1GB of your VRAM.

And you'll easily play BF3 maxed out.

No it won't. But if you're planning to upgrade your CPU, you're better off with an i5. I forgot to say that BF3 multiplayer will benefit from an i5.

No it will not Bottleneck at all.

Yup, Multiplayer needs atleast 4 Cores.
It will run in i3 but not smooth as in i5.

If you're planning to overclock that processor, you'll need a motherboard that can do it like a Z77. Otherwise you can go with this slightly slower one for $40 less after promo code:

I don't have much experience with overclocking cpu's. I have an h61 motherboard type.

The processor you planned on getting is a K Series CPU so I thought you were going to overclock it. You can't overclock with an H61 motherboard but it will work with that CPU. I just thought it makes more sense to save money instead.

You should get i5 3470. I too have this 😉
Because you'll not be able to OC in that Mobo.

3470 is almost same as 3570k until you OC 3570k.

And i5 3470 is a little better for BF3

Hmm.....I should probably get a new motherboard though. See, I bought this computer from a store a year ago, but I wasn't tech-savvy then. So now i'm trying to upgrade everything in it.

You can't compare 2 Different CPUs through their Core Speeds.
There isn't much a difference between them. But getting a better Model is worth it.

But I'd say get a Bigger screen. You'll not enjoy much in that resolution.

But getting a 3570k over 3470 isn't worth it until you OC it to 4.5 Ghz (You'll get 5-10 fps in CPU bound Games)
If you have the Money then get i5 3570k with Z77 Mobo.
3570k will be future proof and will be better in Softwares.
