im looking to buy a radeon 9500 pro...... not sure whether to go with auriga or sapphire.... (this retailer doesnt sell ati radeon 9500 pro.... well on the website) this is in australia btw...... so if i had a choice between the 3 which 1.... or is there another model? like 9100 etc....thx

The Sapphire 9500Pro can be softmodded and hardmodded into a card that outperforms the 9700Pro and is highly overclockable. I have never heard of the Sapphire using inferior memory, though.

eBay, kick ass!

I bought from Best Buy once. Once.

i'm still not sure where people think the radeon 95+ series uses slower ram on the Sapphire's. No they use the exact same ram as ATi.

"What kind of idiot are you?"
"I don't know, what kinds are there?"

Any comments on the FIC and Power Color... both currently at NewEgg...

oic cheeky. I will stay clear of them 😉, hehe there even more expensive than sapphire! :O

Can any one confirm the same about sapphire? Can anybody who thinks sapphire do use bad memory tell us where they found this out?

thanks

Sapphire is considerd to be one of the best brands of Radeon cards. At least when it comes to the DX9 line-up.

NewEgg has the Sapphire 9500 for $165.00

the one that looks like the ones people have been soft modding into 9700, but if you get the right card, it only works about half of the time...

NewEgg also has the Sapphire 9500 Pro for $177.00

I broke down and bought the Pro last night... and insight on the card I got? I hear mixed accounts that it shipps clock locked and that it shipps unclcked---and that Sapphire ships overclocking software. Even if it is unlocked--by Sapphire or by a hacked bios--how far can it be pushed? When does the power plug covering that one ram chip cause a problem?

Any radeon from ASUS, TYAN, HERACLES, ATI, or SAPHIRE (cant remember the other popular brands) should be fine.

I would like to know how trustworthy the reviews at NewEgg really are. Has anyone posted there to confirm that the posts are legit? They look legit, and there are a few negative posts as well, but I would love some feedback. But, yes, I will post here about my card when I get it... it should be Wednesday or Thursday...

And those who had upgraded from one Radeon to a newer Radeon that both use the same driver, check out the driver question I posted ealier today--7500 to 9500... do you just pop the new card in and it works or what?

with the reviews:
yeah they are somewhat legit. i posted a review for my MSI 4400 that i bought about 10 months ago. and a week after i posted it, it showed up. i think they screen the reviews. so if you posted "THIS CARD SUCKS. NEWEGG RIPPED ME OFF. FEDEX TOOK FOREVER" with one star, they probably wouldn't let that one slip by. so basically, they only allow good reviews, or bad reviews that mention how "NEWEGG ROCKS," to be posted.

with the radeons:
no idea, im going from nvidia to ATI here. plus i reformatted so i guess it doesnt matter anyway!
