is my mobo gone bad?

is it the driver? !@#$$!#$#%!#

thanks for the fast reply sir... yes ive check my bios... IDE is enable

i just wonder why my sata 1 and 2 port are not recognizing my hard drives...
now im hooking it up on sata A this is the only sata port that recognizes my hard drive..

i have restored the bios to default i booted from sata and still 1 still not working..

mt o.s is windows xp service pack 3....i did not used the 2 ide slots.. reason is obvious
before this problem occured i have 3 sata drives used on 3 sata port SATA 1 my bootable sata,,,, sata2 and sata A are for my back ups and download

Could you please check SATA mode in BIOS ? Is it set to IDE or to AHCI or to RAID ? Normally, when you applied BIOS defaults, it should have been set to IDE. In IDE mode, Win XP should have no problem. What was this setting before ?

sir its now connected.... and only sata A is recognized... ive tried connecting my other two sata hd from another pc... and it works..... i have connected it back to my pc (the two hd on SATA 1 and 2) its not recognized by the bios i tried to look in the device manager it doesnt appear too

Just an idea. In some motherboards, SATA ports are set as Auto or Not Connected.

Can you check whether they are set as Auto ? In my motherboard (Asus P7P55D), even if I set the SATA port as Not Connected, Windows recognizes the drive connected to that port, but BIOS reads Not Connected. Yours may behave differently.

it is set to AUTO.... ill reboot it again though.... but for now its not being recognize by both windows and bios "sata 1 and 2.... sata A is A ok

tsk tsk tsk... its kinda funny.... i have an extra IDE hard drive 40 gig i put it on as primary slave.... its detected.... weeeeww .... sata 1 and 2 ports still doesnt detect ma 2 sata!! my head hurts thingking for a solution wahahahahaha lol

Check if there is a BIOS update. Also check BIOS update history to see if it will resolve the issue. Otherwise, no need to update. If it will resolve the issue, a floppy diskette drive costs about US$ 5-10 and is worth buying.
