[SOLVED] SATA to USB adapter advice

Hello,

I am trying to recover data off two old hard disk drives. I’ve read about SATA to USB adapter cables and the hard drive adapter cases that I could plug into another computer via a USB port to retrieve the data.

I’m not really sure what device i should purchase to retrieve the data. Does anyone have any recommendations?

keep in mind that those drives are very old and the magnetism on the platters may have wore away and left the drive unreadable. If you really need these, think about sending them out for professional recovery.

Do not let anything Format, Intialize, Prepare for use, or any other sort of write function.
