Superfula...

What do you not understand about this? By limiting FOREIGN domains, you've effectively sent a signal for foreign countries to do the same to you, effectively severing the vast ties between citizens of different countries to communicate with each other. The net will never be the same if they got away with this. Regardless of it being foreign or domestic, severing ties between domains, renders the Internet useless. It's the same thing China did to it's own citizens, and the end result is a country with closed access to the world outside their borders. Venezuela did the same thing to it's citizens, thanks to Chavez. That's not what the Internet was designed for.

SOAP, the logical step forwards to a cleaner tomorrow. Just take a look at the wonders this approach is doing to China today!

In other news,

Happy new 2012!

SOPA will put every single anti-piracy attempts to shame, in terms of backlash and collateral damages, that includes Sony's root-kits back in the early 2000's.

If SOPA gets passed, I'm going to team up with a few of my programmer friends to see if we can cook up a program that can automatically report websites, and then let it loose on all US government's and SOPA supporters' websites.

the SOPA is about eliminating free political speech in the USA, just go to youtube and search "ron paul fox ".. the public are posting clips that expose the bias and manipulation of mainstream news media in the US. Therefore the politicans who benefit from the current system are trying to protect it.

Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Nice to know the modern government can break the fundamental laws laid down to protect us from such acts (SOPA) (PROTECT-IP)

You really think that YOUR site is among the top list of sites that the government is trying to stop? You really think that they will read every one of your comments and try to stop your website? Why would anyone want to do that? The bills for sites like Bittorrent and File sharing sites and rogue sites that sell illegal drugs to innocent people and sites that play illegal TV. Why can't anyone understand this?

I'm all in favor of SOPA. We brought this on ourselves because nobody wants to take responsibility for piracy. “Derezzed” doesn't need to play in the background. Sorry, I have no sympathy here.

This wont stop online piracy, it will shut down half the internet and the other half will be sites acting Big Brother. If a server is serious about pirating, they will be located in a country with looser laws anyway, or find out a way to hack the system.

I've been to China and it's not even as bad as this. They don't make site owners take liability for their content. Sure, they might get fined for something that is against the government, but nothing for going against entertainment companies. Come on... JAIL time? HEAVY fines?

If you thought SOPA and PIPA were bad, let us introduce you to their Big Brother, ACTA.
The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, which has already been signed by several countries, poses a dangerous threat to the inherent freedom and openess of the Internet. Under ACTA, ISPs and websites will be given more power to track what we do online, while forcing them to turn over our information and reporting our activity to the authorities — all in the name of copyright protection! While we respect the rights of creators, ACTA’s ill-conceived provisions will have chilling effects on free speech everywhere.
The European Parliament will soon hold a final consent vote on ACTA and may be our only hope to stop this dangerous agreement. A “No” vote will dismantle ACTA and make countries go back to the negotiating table. We’ve already help bring down SOPA and PIPA, now let’s turn the fight to ACTA. Call on the EU Parliament to take a stand and vote “NO” on ACTA!
