Ok guys, so i just found a seller locally that selling an used lenovo y520 laptop with i7 7700hq and a gtx 1060 6gb ddr5 (as he said). But then when i ask him to send a photo of dxdiag, the displayed memory on the gtx 1060 shows only 1.9gb something ,maybe 2gb. So is it really a gtx 1060 or a rename gtx 1050? Is it possible to rename it ?.

The seller also sell a Lenovo y700 which have amd fx 8800p wirh r7 , and r9 graphics with gtx 1060 ( he said). And when he shows the device manager, surprisingly it shows gtx 1060 and a radeon r9 m385x. But why the laptop has 2 dedicated graphics? Also i have searched online , there is no y700 model with fx 8800p paired with gtx 1060.
The dxdiag of the gtx 1060 shows that the chip manufacturer is by amd, but the name is gtx 1060.

So is it a scam? Is it possible to rename a graphics card? Because its seem legit tho since device manager also shows the name.

P/s forgive my bad english. Thank you

dxdiag is not very accurate when it comes to reporting GPU memory or specs. You should have them run GPU-Z, it can detect common faking methods. If they refuse, don't bother with them.

Not that they can't fake the screenshots.

I'm not aware of anyone flashing vBIOS on laptop GPUs, but presumably just as possible as they do with desktop GPUs.

Save yourself the trouble and buy used from an authorized seller with some sort of guarantee.
