I have a 32 GB Kingston Micro SDHC card that has lots of music and pictures on it, as well as a couple backups of important files on my hard drive that have since disappeared. I've been using the card in my Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6 (Android version 2.2) for the past year or so mainly for music. However, about a month ago, the card corrupted. My Galaxy Player can still detect and mount the card, but it can't determine its size or read any of its contents. I've tried plugging the card into my ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 tablet (Android version 4.2), but I have the same issue. If I connect either device to my computer via USB, I have the same problem yet again. I can open the shortcut to the card, but there aren't any files on it. I've also tried putting the SD card into an adapter and plugging it into my PC's built-in card reader, but Windows 7 doesn't even detect the card in that case. It doesn't show up in My Computer, Device Manager, or Computer Management. I've also tried this with Ubuntu 13.10, but the same issue arises; the card isn't even detected. Does anyone know how to recover the files and reformat the card to get it working again?

Unfortunately, the SD card is not visible in any management console on my laptop, so those tools won't do a whole lot of good.

have you tried using A good USB card reader, or tried other cards in your pc's integrated card reder?

I have similiar problem with your case. My SD MICRO Device was not detected. Was detected previously , but it was Something todo with 3rd party software that i installed. What i have done , i simply go to the manufacture drivers and reinstall the Card readers.

If your question something todo with recovery files , you simply want to use the recovery software such as EASEUS , IMAGE RECOVERY etc.

I've own and owned a lot of flash cards. you name it. i have it or had it. sd, mini sd, micro sd, compact flash, mem stick, mem stick duo. etc etc. i'm just a little pissed cause the only cards that ever died on me were 1x 32g sd from pqi which they rma'ed and sent a new one and kingstons. is it me or kingston cards just suck. i just had a 8g micro sd that died on me and Now they want my receipt for a card that was purchased from long ago. i had 3 die on me in the past and they gave me an rma no problem. i'm just glad i don't buy their crap anymore. i'm just tempted to just throw all my kingstons flash cards away b4 they decide not to work on me. I only used it a hand full of times and when i decide to same some mastercam files they decided to die on me.. 3 hours of work down the toilet. well at least 1 hour. i had a previous save..
