Sdk for Half-Life mod help??

i am a beginner and i just installed Sdk to try to learn how to create my own half-life mods etc. there is no desktop icon, nothing in start menu and no .exe in the Sdk folder. how does this work? is it somehow part of worldcraft 3.3? can someone get me headed in the right direction?

from my knowledge, the sdk aids you in importing your programs into the half life engine. so its not a program per se, its just some code that you can use to implement into your mod in order to take advantage of the half life features.
