Having loaded windows 2000 (XP)
I am now offered a choice of two programs NT or XP
how do I get rid of NT in order to benefit
from all the space it is taking up?

BTW I thought by loading XP, I would automatically
overwrite NT. However this was not the case and
efforts to re-format the C drive have been
interupted by the Windows program itself.

Use a boot disk then Fdisk the machine.
Do not create any partioned space then boot off of the XP
disk.
Install away.
