[SOLVED] Second monitor saying "Cable not connected"

My Second monitor saying "Cable not connected"? My monitor uses VGA so i bought an adapter so I could go from VGA TO DVI-D and it still doesnt work? please help

Try your second monitor on another known working computer or at least a known working video connection.

Try another known working video cable and another adapter as well.

The objective is to use elimination to narrow down the problem to monitor, cable, or adapter.
