I have xp on my laptop with 2 people working from the system. When the main
user is on the sytem works fine. When the second user is on the system for
them is very slow. If you swich to the first user it goes back to being fast
again. I have defraged, archived and removed some programs but it is still
2-3 times slower than the first user. Any suggestions?

What type of user is the second one?
Have you cleaned that users account for spyware/adware?
What do they have loading up (Startup, Services or
HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run)?
If you create another user with the same level of permissions, how does that
user work? Fast, slow?
