Afternoon, everyone.

I'm just wondering if anyone might happen to have the full user manual for a Wade-8321-LU socket 988 ITX motherboard. This, I think, is a board intended mainly for industrial uses, but I managed to get it for a reasonable price off ebay, so I thought I'd have a crack at it. Only problem is, I can't get it to power up.

I've fitted a CPU (i5 second-gen mobile) and 2GB DDR3 RAM, hooked up a USB mouse and keyboard, and added a 20-pin ATX PSU (tested, and known working). When I turn on the mains power, I get a green LED on the mobo, and that's it. I know none of the header pin-outs, and there's nothing that looks like a standard front-panel header on the board.

When I short the Power On pin (on the 20-pin ATX connector) to ground, the fan starts spinning, and I get a couple more green LEDs, but as soon as I remove the short, the board shuts down again. Even if I keep the short in place for 5-10 seconds, nothing shows on the monitor, and I get no beeps from the sounder on the board.

I suspect the mobo may be duff, but it would be great to have the user manual, as there are lots of headers and jumpers on the mobo (for LVDS and power, etc), and none of them are labelled other than as JP1, JP2, etc. I suppose it could also be bad RAM or a bad CPU, but I'm a bit worried by the lack of beeping.

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers, Jon.

Yo guys,
Just want to say a big thankyou for all the information in this thread, it's really helped me get my wade up and running.

I've built mine into a totally overpowered router/firewall with a 2630QM, and there's no way I would have been able to do it without this thread, for the pinouts, bios password/updates, everything!

Have you figured it out yet by any chance? Sorry man ive been really busy. I'll try to get to it. I dont know where the others are at that could possibly help.

No problemo! Maybe chip in and help out Deonis with what hes asking for too eh? :)

No =), dont figured =(

Hello all!
I soldered second SO-DIMM DDR3 slot. Bought it here.
After start mainboard second RAM module is working. Good result. BIOS and Memtest86+ is OK. In BIOS section second memory module not displayed (locked section in BIOS). I waiting second 8GB module (tested 8GB + 4GB).
I think that BIOS from 8021 not have this "bad" feature. :)

Have a question. In above I see about PCI-E 3.0 problems. I not understand. It's not work in 3.0 mode and work in 2.0 mode? How this mode can be switched?

Thanks

The results of some other person attempting to run his PCI-E slot as PCI-E 3.0 caused a boot issue and an issue with his SATA port mode as well. Basically, even though the bios has it, AVOID setting your PCI-E slot to 3.0 mode. Make sure its set to PCI-E 2.0 mode for maximum compatibility and for everything to work. Forget about PCI-E 3.0.

Hello,

I bought this mobo off ebay and was thinking about putting an i7-2670qm, a r9 270x and a 8g ddr3l ram module.

I tried everything but i just cant seem to be able to turn it on.
I tried clearing the CMOS, the jumper settings from this thread, with/without ram, even tried without the processor. Nothing.

I tried discharging all the power, even tried removing the battery. No sign of life.

Now it did start a couple of times for half a second when the first led near the edge was lit. Just to turn itself down after half a second and after that it would lite up the fourth led from the edge...

Am i missing something here?
Can anyone help me on this one?

Thanks

Have you tried starting it up with nothing else connected to it on a piece of cardboard? It almost sounds like there is a short on the underside of the board from like a rogue standoff or something.

No rogue shorts i could see...
But anyway i pulled it out and sat it on a piece of plastified lessonite (wood for furniture backplanes) and tried with and without proc.

Still the same... nothing happens.

Does anyone know what the LED lights stand for? Is it some kind of beep code?

Yeah not sure what to tell you. Im not sure anyone in here had that sort of issue so id just inspect the board, blow it off with compressed air, look for anything on there that could cause a problem, compare to the pics we have posted (which it seems you have done), and beyond that im not so sure. You can contact Portwell tech support, they were pretty happy to help me before.

Hi, i brought the motherboard and when i press the power button i hear 7 or 6 quick beeps once and it boots normally. i stressed the cpu with prime95 for 24 hours and intel burn test for 50 passes without it crashing.

is it normal for the board to beep during POST?

Helgaiden, a friend of mine is having the same problem with this board and the same CPU. Is there any chance you could let me have your jumper settings as well?

Thanks, Jon.

Yeah mine beeps a few times, a few lower beeps followed by a higher pitched beep, then boots normally. As long as it boots up normally and everything runs fine, i wouldn't worry about it.

I take it the photobucket embedded pic i posted isnt working? or were there different jumper settings you were looking for? Photobucket doesn't seem to be working for me so i'll try to get that picture somehow and post it from imgur.

Ive got this for now if it helps.

Good morning, I recently bought this interesting motherboard and I'm trying to use it with an i7-2630qm and 4gb of ram.
The problem is that actually I'm not able to install windows 10 since at the biginning of the installation looks for specifics drivers and stops.
I red about a bios update but I haven't been able to find it. May anyone share with me the link of the bios update?
I have the 2.10.1208 installed, is it already the latest??

Thank you so much!!

Looks like they don't have it on the original page i had linked. Luckily i saved it and have it on my google drive.

Thank you so much!!
after flashing the bios everithing is working properly!!

I would like to upgrade my cpu (actually i'm using an asus GTX 650) with a zotac gtx 1060. Has anyone experience on usign this video card on such mobo??

It probably wouldn't be a problem at all as long as your power supply can handle it.

Sorry for answering you so late!
Anyhow i used a pendrive with freeDOS, booted from usb and excuted the update.bat.
