Situation: I'm getting a new PC delivered tomorrow - including a Gigabyte Windforce OC RTX 5080. I dont have a 4k monitor, but i'm thinking now's the time to. I have a great 34" Samsung WQHD that is excellent for work, and when playing games it's fine for lots of titles (not so great with my old rig for Cyberpunk... 😀 ). So i'm thinking the plan is to replace my current old 1080p acer monitors i use as 2nd/3rd screens on a stand above the main one (mostly for work) with a single decent 4k monitor side-by-side with the Samsung. That way i still have great real estate and productivity for work, and a good 4k monitor for specific games as needed after hours. 2 monitors instead of 3, but all around better, and enough space to keep me happy.

2 questions - anyone got other thoughts they think i should consider in terms of setup? And probably more importantly, with a new Nvidia 5080 what sorts of things should i really be looking for in the monitor? Eg. Is g-synch really a good idea, or just a nice to have? i assume 100hz+ is really a minimum? etc.

there are so many 4k monitors, and i'm trying to be price conscious given what i just paid for the new rig. so i'm keen on trying to work out what specs i should be chasing v's not?

Would appreciate thoughts.
