Title: Seeking RAM Upgrade Advice for My Ryzen 5 3600X System


Hello,


I’m looking to upgrade my system with a 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 RAM kit. My preference is for a 3600MHz kit. I’m currently considering the following options:

• Kingston Fury Beast 32GB (2x16) 3600MHz CL18
• G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB (2x16) 3600MHz CL18
• Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 32GB (2x16) 3600MHz CL18

Additionally, here are my current system specifications:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
• GPU: EVGA RTX 3060 Ti 8GB
• Motherboard: ASUS B450M K-II
• PSU: NZXT 750W

I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions regarding these options and their compatibility with my setup, especially for applications like Rust and After Effects.

Hey there,

If you are not gonna change your CPU, then I'd go for 3200mhz CL16 dimms. The reason is you will be able to run your mem clock/mem controller clock/infinity fabric clock in a 1:1:1 ratio. This will ensure latency.

If you are planning to upgrade the CPU further, then the ones above 'should' work. Just check they are on the QVL for your mobo.

I'd wait. If your already on 16gb ram, then a new CPU would be better upgrade.

I'm playing modded Minecraf and Rust, and I also use After Effects—all of which require high memory usage. Additionally, I sometimes host Minecrafservers, which demand extra RAM. Given these factors, wouldn't upgrading my RAM be the better choice?

Yes, considering that, it would help for sure. Ram is so cheap nowadays, so if you're gonna upgrade the CPU getting the faster ram, and more ram won't hurt.
