Segate external hard disk detected but not recognized

Hi All,

The external hard disk is not recognizing but i can see the device name in the device manager.

Could any one help me out in understanding the problem.

I have done the below checks with the desk:

I have checked with all the USB ports in my system.

Not able to access disk management when i plug in the hard disk.

Tried in other laptops as well .


And i'm worrying more about the data in the disk.Is it possible to retrieve the data?

Could be your usb controller has died. You can remove the drive from the enclosure and attach it directly to your motherboard. That might allow you to get the data.
