Self built computer won't start

Hello,
I just put my first computer together today and I can't even get it to turn on. It makes a pop whenever I try. Im pretty sure everything is plugged in right and can't figure out why it won't start! The parts I'm using are

Asus p8Z68 v-pro
Intel i5 2500k
Seagate barracuda 1 tb
DVD drive
Cooler master 932 with 4 fans

A 1000 watt cooler master silent pro. I figured it out, I accidentally had the 4 pin power connector in the wrong spot, the directions said to put it somewhere it shouldnt have gone.
