Good moves by AMD, right from the high-end AMD FX-53 to the upcoming Semprons for socket 939 (next year). Intel is going to get a good old hiding.

soo .. is the SocketA Semptron an athlonXP, or is it a modified A64 (with the ondie memory controllers and increased pipeline length)?

wtf is this core based off

looks like a A64 core minus the 64bit. Looks like only 256k of L2 Cache

actually, in that link i fiound my answer

the Socket-A Semprons will be Barton cores with 256kb cache. so its really a Tbred, but they are calling it a Barton core, which is really the same core current Durons are using!

the socket 747 ones use a disabled 64bit Athlon 64. Also from that link

that socket is no good for me, i got a socketa board

looks like my 2500+Mobile is the end of the line =(

its a shame, because i got a wicked board, has sata raid, soundstorm and is a nforce2 ultra400 chipset.. it runs my THREE sticks of ram in dual channel, explain to me how that works LOL

Sempron=Tbred?
Shouldn't it be faster than a TBred?
look at the comparison they did, a 16x11=1833MHz Sempron = Athlon XP 2600+? But Barton at 1833MHz is rated only at 2500+? What's going on here?

yeah?! + the Sempron has only 256K L2, Bartons have 512K. I'm pretty sure these are 64bit disabled Athlon 64's

Correct they are not a64 disabled.. they are athlon xp's with 256kb cache. later on they might or will be crippled a64's but not now.. so no on die hypertransport or nx or cool and quiet just athlon xp with less cache at least AFAIK.

If I glanced at a spilt box of tooth picks on the floor, could I tell you how many are in the pile. Not a chance, But then again I don't have to buy my underware at Kmart.

SocketA Semprons are T-bred with lower clock speed.
