Yes, I have same combo now, all works super except there will be no PCIe 4 support for GPUs although may work with PCIe 4 M.2 NVMe SSDs.Due to finances, I am unable to buy both decent X570 mobo and 3000 series CPU.
Apart from losing out on PCIe 4, will I still get the full benefit of 3000 series CPU, if I install it on ASUS Prime x470 Pro?

Thanks CountMike, sounds good.Yes, I have same combo now, all works super except there will be no PCIe 4 support for GPUs although may work with PCIe 4 M.2 NVMe SSDs.
BIOS would have to be updated first.
I'd love to, but approx. £800 for both out of reach at the moment, but I take your point, thanks .I was using 3700X with Gigabyte Aorus X470 Gaming 5 Wifi with Corsair Vengeance 16GB*2 (32 Total) 3000mhz
and i was getting BSOD's one after another.
my bios was updated and i tried checking but everytime there was BSOD with new error.
Finally i chamged the Mobo to X570 MSI gaming edge wifi, the CPU(New 3700X) and the ram to the 3200 Mhz ones
Now everything is working perfectly.
Could be that my case was different but i will say to get a X570.
