I wasn't sure if I was going to buy it anyway. My patients for mindless
shooters is wearing thin, but I may reconsider thanks to this one sentence,
"According to 2K Games, other levels include a planet of Elvis worshippers
(!), a King Kong-inspired level, and an obligatory lava level."

yeah, your right about the playstation. I thought I heard it was using
an intel chip, but after some more reasearch, it looks like some sony
job.

the xbox uses a pentium III/ celeron II hybrid running at 700mhz, and
has a "xchip" for the video (a geforce 3) and has 64 mb of ram,. which
I assume is shared with the video card...seems like an awful little to
be running things like half-life 2, but I suppose it's "windows"
version takes a lot less juice to run.

Haha... You can bet the game is made for console and ported to PC.
Meaning it's not THEM that's going to be suffering from poor controls,
it's us.

No, the XBox uses the 64MB system RAM for gfx also (shared-memory)...

Certainly not. The PSX2 doesn't have a x86 CPU, it has no Windows and a
different architecture...

The problem aren't the consoles but the games. Usually a console game is
made and ported to the PC which means even the PC users which usually have
hardware much more capable than every console share the same limitations
(small levels, often loading, limited gfx and controls). The better way
would be to develop on and for the PC and then port the game to consoles...

The PSX2 (which is what we're talking about) doesn't have a Cell
processor...
