I ordered three SAS 15K HP hard drives for a VMWare server that I built in December. First time using serversupply.com because my company's usual Nationwide supplier had HDs back-ordered until April due to the floods in Thailand. Well, I walked into the office this morning and 2 of the 3 hard drives failed overnight less than two months after I purchased these drives.

Upon pulling the failed drives out, I double checked the dates on the drives... they have stickers dated November 2011. However, after looking closer I see the actual manufactured date is 2007. These newly purchased drives are 5 years old! They are falsely advertised as NEW bulk on the order page.

If you are in need of server supplies for critical applications then I would HIGHLY recommend that you DO NOT order from serversupply.com. You are paying slightly lower than MSRP for something that is either used or old. Go elsewhere.

However if you need like a cooling fan, a heatsink, or something else that won't affect your uptime then go ahead and order from them. If you are in any way in need of a NEW part, stay far away and don't waste your money here.

I ordered an Intel I3 laptop processor on Sunday. I only received a receipt for payment on Monday, no shipping confirmation. I ended up calling their customer support number on Tuesday. The lady spoke in Chinese accent and sounded very nervous. She rushed me through the conversation as i was trying to get information on when my package would ship. I was completely respectful to her and it seemed she was just waiting to get off the phone. She said it is in a warehouse, she doesn't know when it will ship, but would let me know by phone call the next day. Wednesday came, and no phone call. Late Wednesday night i received an email from them with my tracking number. I paid for 3 day shipping, but my package is not supposed to arrive until Monday now, 8 days after ordering. Hopefully it's a real Intel. lol.

I ordered a server raid cache battery from serversupply.com and it was DOA and occasionally that happens. That's not why I'm writing this review. They refunded the original price but they did not refund the shipping and I had to pay to ship the battery back. I chose them because they had the best price but I had to pay for shipping both ways for a DOA component. Their customer service is sub par and I'll pay more somewhere else for better service.

Bad experience with Server Supply, Inc.

I ordered a used replacement HDD for an old Dell computer. After re-formatting the drive and loading my operating system, I ran the drive for about a week when it started throwing continuous errors, BSOD and so on. After running several disk checks, I realized that this was a failing HDD with many bad sectors and clusters. Much worse than my original HDD that this one was purchased to replace.

I emailed Server Supply with an explanation of the problems and a picture of the screen showing the errors asking for a replacement, but never received a response.

I chalked this up to a bad experience and will never use server supply again but I also want to make sure anyone else who considers using them can at least consider my experience before doing so.

Thank you for reading.

I ordered a hd for my laptop; they sent me some powersupply instead, got the return label right away and I thought it would be resolved. I saw that the returned item was received by them 2 days ago and I emailed(2 days ago) to find out when they were shipping the correct item - still no response. I emailed again today - still no response - the reviews I'm seeing here is starting to worry me...I will update this board when resolved - stay tuned!

wow, glad i did a search... found core 2 duo & core 2 quad at serversupply but after reading the many bad reviews here, that's all i need to see. Ty everyone

Do not buy from these people. They sell used merchandise as new. I bought two xeon CPUs and they were used. The lady explained that they are sold as bulk, if you pay $800 then you get the manufacture warranty, if not only 30 days warranty only. The items are used. And I have pics to show that they have been used. Do not buy from these people.

I wish I had seen this before I bought from them. they sent me a tape drive that was busted inside the box. The box wasnt damaged so it wasnt done in shipping either. When I sent it back to them they claimed that i sent them back a different item lol. So far they refuse to credit me as they said they would. BUYER ....... BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, HORRIBLE PRODUCTS!!!

Bought a $160.00 Seagate Hard Drive and it arrived nonfuntional. I called to return it and they refused to pay for the shipping back to them. I asked to speak to a manager and was told 3 different times in 2 seperate days that the managers are out. During the 3rd phone call I was told all managers were out to lunch and then hung up on...mid sentence! I normally don't write reviews, but this is something I do for a living and in all my years I have never experienced such awful service in this business. Stay away from them!

Terrible experience.

I ordered 7 apples and was given 6 edible apples and a rotten apple.

Serversupply says they will send us another apple to replace the rotten one but we got an orange instead.

We were told that the orange tastes just like an apple and it should work but it didn't .

Serversupply then convinced us to ship the orange back so that they can give us the right edible apple.

We spent a good amount to ship the orange across the globe and here's the wonderful reply,

'We no longer have the apples(disks) in stock.'

Several emails were sent to ask if they are going to replace the item or refund the money but Serversupply ignored the emails for nearly a month until we made a call to complain.

There was absolutely no remorse or any hint of regret from their end.

Yeah I will beat a dead horse

I ordered 'refurbished' opteron 280's from them a few years ago to give an obselete server a bit of a late-life face lift. I made the mistake of waiting a few weeks to install them as I assumed, being refurbished, they had been tested. Anyway the processors were e-waste and not functional, I contacted them 32 days after my purchase and spoke to everyone I could. They basically said FU .. all over ~$45.

They literally sell trash

Stay away from them. I ordered IBM Fiber Hard Drives Duals from them waited a few weeks to install due to scheduling downtime and when I installed them they we all single channel drives. I went back to my AMEX and BBB with no positive results. Server Supply would not return even though the part number on the box did not match the part number on the box. Run away from any good deal you think you getting here.

11-07-13 Beware of this company! I purchased a hard drive from Server Supply that was supposed to be refurbished. It was not. Had it checked out by two different qualified technicians that confirmed it was bad. Server Supply refused to refund my money. They are selling JUNK as refurbished item. Your taking a real chance purchasing anything from this company.

Do not order from them. They send out defective parts and when you try to return it they try to find a way to not let you return it or make you pay for the return shipment cost. I was fighting with an agent by the name Rahima who claimed to be the company manager. She sounded like a complete idiot who was trained to scam their customers.

"WARNING!!! Read this before you loose money:
I purchased a NEW server with original HP warranty. The server arrived DEAD! I was told that the warranty had expired and they can't do anything about it. The server was a two year old piece of junk put together from non-matching part numbers, totally scratched and dusty. DO NOT GET SCREWED! I am out $3.418!!! I filed consumer protection claims and I will sue them. What a headache!"
