I just moved into my friends house and he has a Cisco Wireless Router, I moved into the back room where I can get pretty good wirless signal. I want to use my NetGear N750 to pick up this Wireless signal than run an Ethernet cord from my NetGear N750 to my desktop for internet access...oh yeah I forgot to mention I am running Ubuntu 10.04 on a homebuilt puter.
Now i logged into www.routerlogin.net and tried to adjust the settings in the Advanced section of the NetGear and I went to Wireless Repeating Function....I checked the box for "Enable Wireless Repeating Function (2.4GHz b/g/)" then I checked the "Wireless Repeater Bubble" and already filled in boxes show "Repeater IP Address 192.168.1
Then i put in the "Base Station MAC Address" that I found on the backside of his Cisco Router....
When I press enter the screen says, "To operate as Repeater, please setup a new IP address of this device, then you can configure this device via this new IP address in the future"
Does anyone have any experience with the problem I have lol!
Thanks in advance!
