Question Several PC issues, USB related

I've been encountering several issues with my PC, tried countless solutions and yet to find one that works for any. I believe they could be related but possible they aren't.

The first issue I encountered is that occasionally, normally once or twice a day, all of my peripherals plugged into the USB ports on my PC will disconnect for a few seconds, before reconnecting. I don't recall making any changes that could have caused this. I have disabled "allow computer to turn this device off to save power" for all devices and USB ports in device hub, as well as disabling usb selective suspend in power plan. This occurs across all USB ports on my PC. I checked event viewer last time this happened and did not see anything there of note, however i'm not 100% on what I should be looking for if anything. I also have tried checking performance when this happens and don't see anything of note happening with CPU, GPU or RAM usage.

In the last week I have been encountering several issues with my Focusrite Scarlett Solo (I have contacted focusrite support, have not heard back yet) the first was while playing games the delay on my mic input would spike up to in some cases several seconds, only resolved by unplugging and plugging the device back in.

In the last 2 days I randomly get huge static coming through my headphones and speakers, both plugged into interface, as well as distortion on any audio coming through.

As I said unsure if these could be related, second two issues likely just a case of my interface is dying, but wondering if maybe this could be causing the USB issue somehow? or the other way around?

Would appreciate any suggestions on these issues.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Have you found a solution to this? I'm experiencing similar issues myself, and I also us my system for music production, in addition to gaming, programming, etc.

I've even tried some of the things you've mentioned about selective suspend. No dice.
Someone on reddit suggested it could be caused by conflicting RGB control programs. He mentioned NZXT cam, Corsair iCue etc. I had Logi G Hub, NZXT cam and Steelseries engine running.

Not sure what the relation is but in hindsight the issue began not too long after I started using steelseries engine for sonar, moments and rgb control. I stopped running steelseries engine and haven't had the issue since.

I did try running steelseries engine with the RGB control disabled, as per the reddit comment, however I still had the problem.

I still don't know for sure, but I suspect it was probably some compatibility issue with Steelseries Sonar and my Scarlett Solo/Focusrite control (which is now having a separate (i think unrelated) issue) if you're using the PC for music production that might be something worth considering.

Hmm, I have iCue installed, but I don't think there's any iCue service running. Even in the case that I do use products from those companies, I almost never install those pieces of software unless I need to use them for a firmware update or something. I usually uninstall them soon after, and make sure my system is scrubbed of those files.

I'm also using a traditional DAC as opposed to a "proper" audio interface, since I don't use a mic for recording, just a USB midi keyboard.

I'll double check to see if I have anything installed that you mentioned, though. Hmm.

I found a fix for my system. It had to do with a motherboard firmware issue (from around 3 years ago) for the x570 and b550 chipsets. Updating the firmware resolved the issue for me (and apparently, most others)
