Hi,

Can anyone help here. I have just installed an Abit SG-72 MoBo and when it
boots it lists the processor details and then goes no further. It does give
the Press Delete command but when I press delete it does not enter CMOS as
it should. Is this a memory problem. I have utilised all components from
another system which used the PM266A MoBO.

I have tried other memory to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Your a bit shy on details that would help. Did you reset the bios?
Does your board support the processor you installed|? What processor?
What memory in particular are you using? Are you using a PS2 keyboard
and not a USB keyboard?

Bill,

I did reset the bios using the jumper. The board is just an updated version
of the old board taken out, so the processor is fine I think (Intel Celeron
2.6GHz). The keyboard is indeed PS2. The memory is 256Mb DDR - 266Mhz
PC2100U.

I hope this makes sense.

Bill,

Thanks for your help. I have discovered the problem. It was a PCI card I had
transferred from the old machine that was causing the problem.

Best regards

Excellent, because I'd run out of easy ideas since I haven't bought or
owned an Intel board since my last Pentium 200.

And please don't top post.

Bill,

Most of us don't have a problem with people top posting in this news group.

Ok, you're a fourth. No ulcers or high BP here. I had politely asked
the OP to not top post. If others want to top post, fine, 99% of the
time I just ignore them. Top posting budinskis get killfiled. Life's
too short to try and make sense out of a thread that's been screwed up
by top posters.

Qed -

I posted an article, 21 years old today, telling how you could "sing" to
her.

Give it a try! You might blow some of the frosting off her cake!

Watch out Qed ..

TomG's a frisky critter, even for his crusty advanced age!

He's probably got some sort of inserted device that keeps "it" locked and
loaded...

If you're not careful, you'll be getting none at all, considering the
competition!
