Question Should I buy this used Power Supply?

Hello everyone, I was on Kijiji the other day and I found this guy selling a EVGA 650 GQ, and a EVGA 650 BQ. Each for $50 Canadian Dollars. I was gonna return my DA500 from Deepcool because it's bad and switch it to a CX550M from Corsair ($70). The guy said he used if for mining (4 Months only). I want it to run for like at least 4 Years on a i7 2600 and a RX 570 Nitro+.

I wouldn’t buy those even if they were new.

Why? Was there anything bad about them? I've never researched about different Power Supplies but why?

I wouldn't recommend it unless you verify that it works before you buy it. And even if it works now, there's no guarantee that it isn't years old already.

The guy told me I should test it when we meet, and he said he used it for only 4 months and cleaned out the dust.

Unless you're dragging a $2000 load tester along when you go see if the PSU works, going to check out the PSU tells you nothing except whether it's completely DOA or now.

So, bringing a motherboard won’t work right? If it doesn’t work, is a CX550M good for a budget power supply? (I can’t find any Good power supplies from like Seasonic and FSP under $70 Canadian), it’s gonna be running a i7 2600 and a RX 570.
