Should i get a i5 4690k or a i7 4790k?

I am going to build my first pc and i don't know if i should get an i5 4690k or a i7 4790k,I am planning to play games like BF Hardline, CoD, Far Cry. And some lighter games like Minecraft and CS.
I will record some gameplays, but i don't mind if the render takes to long.

An i5 will do just fine, i7 is helpful when more cores (Hyperthreads are virtual cores) are needed, like heavy video editing, Virtual machines, etc, which isn't the case with games.

Agreed with Meteors. I can feel the difference in video editing/rendering, but in games we don't see the engines making use of hyperthreading yet, so not a really noticeable difference.

Ok thanks, but will the threads be useful while recording gameplays (for example : reduce fraps/dxtory frame rate decrease)?

if you plan to record and edit your videos, then go for the 4790k, but IF you do not want to OC, then go for a Xeon 1231 v3 with an h97 board. The 1231 is a 4770 with out the igpu

OP, it depends on the program you use, some (like Nvidia's Shadowplay) put little to none extra load on CPU so an i5 will do just as fine as an i7. If you wish to stream live gameplay, I'd rather go for i7 since popular streaming softwares like OBS take a lot of CPU time.
