Mobo: Sabertooth 990fx R2

Memory: 16gb DDR3 1866/10

Storage: 240gb ssd

Plugging in a split PCIE cable is normal and required for the GPU to function. It is intended to work as an 8 pin or a 6 pin when broken apart.

Are you talking the 6+2 split cable, or the 2 x 6+2 daisy-chain split cables? If the former, yes. combine them.

If you're asking about the 6-pin "tail" hanging loose in the photo, there's no place to plug it in. The card only has a single 8-pin header. Or am I not understanding your question?
