Should I push my i7 5930K to 4.8GHZ at 1.4V V-Core?

My current CPU (i7 5930K) is overclocked at 4.5GHz with my V-Core voltage siting at 1.3, and I was wondering if it's safe/healthy to push it to 4.8GHz with pushing my V-Core voltage to 1.4, is this risky or will this significantly reduce the life span of my CPU? Let me now what you guys think, thanks.

1.3v is the max safe voltage. Many people who had 4770ks tried to get better over-clocks early in the process. They would run their chips at 1.35+ and many had them die about 6 months into their high voltage use. The Haswell can't handle as much voltage as Sandy Bridges or some of the early Core series chips. You'll end up with the "high voltage spiral". The chip will slowly become unstable, then you'll find that you have to add voltage to make it stable, and the cycle will continue and speed up, eventually ending in a chip that's toast, no matter how high the voltage is.

Oh ok, thank you so much, so staying at 4.5GHz and a 1.3 V-Core voltage is the highest I should go basically? Also is my V-Core voltage too high for 4.5GHz?
 
V-core is too high if you can drop it lower and still be stable.

CPU's vary in how much leakage they have which requires higher voltage to compensate for. Even CPU's of the same exact model (see "silicon lottery).

So you'll want to experiment maybe, but at the very least keep temps at under 80degC max. Optimal is probably low 70degC's. I forget what it is for that CPU.

again, CPU's will vary but:

"Moving up to a bit faster processor clock, costs us quite a bit in terms of voltage and stability as shown above. At 4.7GHz/2666MHz to get any sort of Prime95 stability we had to move the core voltage up to 1.32v and the CPU input voltage up to 1.94v. Pushing all 6 cores and all 16GB of memory we could only muster an hour of stability before we experienced a system crash. This proved to be the case over and over."

More than 1.3V at 4.5GHz is probably not needed.
 


When I'm idled or internet browsing it stays at 55C, when downloading games or multi tasking 60C, when gaming heavily 60C-72C, sometimes it jumps up to 75C or 78C when gaming very heavily on 4K for just a second but stays in the 65-70C region and I watch my temps with HW Monitor constantly.

I also have a good liquid cooler, which is the Corsair H100i GTX.
 


I live in NYC, it's like 50-70C lol, so I'm fine right? Should I try overclocking more? Or should stay at this OC
 


Yeah I have 32GBs of DDR4 Ram clocked at XMP @2800Hz
 
Tfw I just found this thread after been running on the 5930k @4.5GHz with 1.4v for the last 4.5 years.
I have reduced my voltage and it is now stable at 1.31v.
Ps. my cooling system is CM Nepton 280L
