Question Should I record in HDR PQ if I export SDR?

If l'm recording in HDR PQ 10-bit and exporting SDR/ Rec 709 (and using the Canon CLog2 to Rec709 LUT, using a Canon R50), would the final image in SDR look "better" as opposed to just non-HDR 8-bit SDR? Or would it be better to just shoot 8-bit SDR?

In general the higher the input resolution the better the output, but it might not be enough of a difference for you to care, you have to try yourself and see if you notice any quality difference at all.
