Question Should I update to the latest BIOS in my B550 PG riptide?

Hi. Should there been a problem if I update the BIOS of my mainboard B550 PG riptide to its latest version. It is currently in version 1.40, and latest is 3.20

My current CPU is ryzen 5 5500.

I want to update the BIOS because I've seen reports that it solves the stutter and audio problems that appear in some games and programs.

What I don't really understand is this message that appears in the BIOS list: To support Ryzen 5000 G-Series processors, it requires to update the BIOS with Matisse, Renoir or Vermeer CPU.

That message is irrelevant to you. It only applies to someone who would have an older BIOS version that doesn't support Zen 3 CPUs (which you currently use).

Even if you needed a specific CPU to update a bios, as long as your board supports USB flashback, all you would have to do is format a USB thumb drive as FAT32, place your BIOS file onto it, plug it into the flashback port (while PC is off!) and press and hold the flashback button.

Hi Daniel, could you please tell me which specific USB port on the motherboard you plugged the flash drive into? Or is it possible to update the Bios there through any USB port of the board in this board?
