I like to stream and i play on 144hz and i can tell that the 4790k is starting to push to the limits. now for an upgrade what should i do thats best for the price? Do i go ryzen 2700x? or do i go i7 8700k? some extra input from others would be helpful thank you!

Solution
The 8700K and 9700K (and of course, the 9900K) have a noticeable frame rate advantage (of up to 35% in 1440P or 1080P res) over all the Ryzen models when using top end GPUs...

(If I knew ahead of time I'd have or plan to get a very good GPU in pursuit of minimum 144 FPS for 144 Hz monitors, one of the above i7 or i9 processors is the way I'd go if purchasing now...but that might all change in July if Ryzen 3000 series desktop CPUs arrive on time, so if your purchase is a few months away, you can decide to wait or not)

Good luck with your build.

best value for the money would be the ryzen platform. 2600, 2600x 2700 or 2700x would be my choice if I had to build one today trying to save a few bucks. if money wasn't an issue I'd reluctantly go 9900k even though I know it's way overpriced.
