[SOLVED] Should i upgrade?

Hello everyone.

So i have a Evga 980 ti sc+ acx 2.0 gpu for the past 4 years (https://www.evga.com/products/specs/gpu.aspx?pn=3cdfab4c-0eab-44b7-8f32-2a6780a37c4b)

i'm really wondering if i should sell it and grab a palit 3060 ti dual oc (https://www.palit.com/palit/vgapro.php?id=3883&lang=en&pn=NE6306TS19P2-190AD&tab=sp)
which i can find at 600 euros (being the cheapest one in my country) or should i just stick with the 980 ti and upgrade later if the prices drop and get a better version of the 3060 ti ?

i'm gaming on 1080p with a 144hz monitor
i have 10400f with msi z490 a pro
16gb ram 4000 cl16
corsair rm psu 750w (4 y old)

will i see any difference with the palit 3060ti which as i see on reviews is not top tier?

You're running 1080p, so I would say wait, don't upgrade yet. You'll surely see a good increase and 600 euros is a good price for the 3060ti, but still, I recommend holding onto it. Or just... make use of the situation, grab the 3060ti and sell the 980ti at an inflated price on ebay. Up to you

You'll see a bump in perf.
Will it be a 600e bump?......who knows.

I upgraded from a gtx 1070 to an rx 6600xt. That was definitely a decent upgrade I felt. I was still getting good performance from the 1070. The 980ti is 6-7 years old now. I think I’d consider selling it on eBay and getting the other card if nothing else before the 980ti would decide to kick the bucket.

I’m in the USA, but at the time my gtx 1070 sold for just over 300 dollars, I paid 439.99 for the 6600xt. So if you do that you are effectively getting a discount.

Some games are cpu limited, and some are graphics limited.
Run this simple test:
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
This makes the graphics card loaf a bit.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

3060ti from any vendor will represent a good bump in graphics capability.
If you have the budget, I would consider the upgrade.

I agree with the above statement. As I said, I'm pretty happy with my RX 6600xt, coming off of a 1070. The 6600xt is just below the 3060ti, but it was available in Microcenter at the time and I jumped on it. I'm happy with the upgrade, so if you can get a 3060ti, or even a 3060, or if you happen to come across a deal for an RX 6600xt for msrp, any of those cards, go for it.

I will try to sell the 980 ti at 300-350 and then upgrade to a 3060 ti .
should i upgrade to a 11400 as well or just keep the 10400f?

There is no reason to go for 11400 CPU as it still is an i5. I would consider as a logical upgrade of CPU an i7 or i9 even from the same generation.

IMO, the main reason for this upgrade would be to enable the CPU-fed NVMe slot. If it were me, I wouldn't bother with upgrading from the 10400 unless the 11700 goes on sale at some point in the future, then you at least get two extra core and a decent base clock bump along the way.

It looks like a a 10400 to an 11400 would be a side grade. So you aren't gaining a lot of performance. So go for an i7 if you are going to upgrade.
