Photo(s) would be nice to see.

850W PSU isn't overkill though, especially when you plan to go with 2x GTX 1070 in a 2-way SLI.

Btw, Corsair 270R is mid-tower ATX case and not a full-tower ATX case,

Bought Corsair 750D Airflow Edition, Demciflex dust filter kit for Corsair 750D, Samsung 850 Evo (500GB), CableMod SE-series full cable kit (Blue) and 5.25" -> 3.5" mounting frame for my Haswell build.

Cloning the OS from HDD to SSD. Had to use my old PS/2 KB since MoBo didn't detect USB KB after POST and i couldn't get into the BIOS.

Night shot which shows very nicely the black & blue theme with my Haswell build.

Bought Sharkoon DG7000-G Green for my AMD build.

System up and running. Had to use few components from my Haswell build since i don't have 3rd monitor for my AMD build.

Close-up. To be honest, my old AMD build looks way better than i thought it would look.

Night shot (more or less). Since my Skylake build has black & red theme and Haswell build has black & blue theme, i decided to go with black & green theme with my AMD build.

So, the start of a mini 'upgrade'/build - which is a downsize for me ATX to mITX and a build with components I have laying around/left over.

So today, I scored (what I feel is) a steal @ $200 CAD
WSSBz6t.jpg

The motherboard alone is going for $300+CAD

So, my build is going from:

To
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/qZB7xY

Although I may swap in the new cooler..... I'll see how I feel with the new case.

With the "leftovers" and some parts I have laying around, I'll put together:
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/vhPcXH

Which I feel would be a very capable budget gaming setup, with a solid OC.
Would need to pick up some more/replacement RAM and a decent PSU.
I only have a spare 350W Chicony unit (i think it came out of an old Dell XPS or something), but at least I could test the Mobo+CPU without having to take my rig apart just yet.
m8IcTzq.jpg

It's alive though!!

Thinking this will go to my GF's son. Not sure how the dual-core aspect will hold up for the games he plays, but considering he runs them on an older AMD APU in his laptop..... I'm assuming it should be fine.

Can't help but feel I should sell the Define R4 and house the second setup in something a little more..... budget though.

So I swapped out the G Skill Trident Z for some Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3000 RAM in my Ryzen build and then I put the extra 16GB back in my other PC. I'm looking at purchasing an NZXT S340 with tempered glass for my rig, that or a Phanteks P400S. Something with tempered glass. And then an M2 drive will be my next upgrade.

Why didn't you put the Corsair in the much less memory dependent Intel system instead of downgrading the Ryzen build? Or does that RAM overclock on Ryzen? There are a few B-die DDR4 3000 kits.

Recently did a massive upgrade, upgraded to a I7 7700K, ASUS Maximus IX HERO, 16GB DDR4 Corsair 3200mhz, Corsair H100I V2 and a Gigabyte G1 GTX 1080 (which was a free replacement after the original 1070 had a fault). Also got a Creative sound blaster Z. Thoughts ?

I'm just using it temporarily. I got it from Newegg as a review set so I didn't have to pay money for it. I want to get some Trident Z RGB RAM at some point but with memory prices as high as they are right now I will wait a bit to see if prices subside. But I'm also reconfiguring that system as I'm interested in getting a new case and possibly cooler, so that will change everything when I do decide what I'm doing.

The Trident Z that I was using previously was part of a 4 x 8GB set that I got for the Intel rig and so I'm putting it back to have the matched set.

Well the franken-rig is alive! Didn't have to give away my board or my case either

Turns out I had an H81M-E that I forgot about (i picked it up for $5 as an unknown working deal), straightened out the couple of pins, and it works!

Still working on RAM, as i picked up 2x2GB to pair with the 2x2GB I already had.... but with only 2 DIMM slots on the H81, I gotta rethink that.

Everything migrated over. Sadly the rear exhaust didn't fit with enough space so was pushing off the NH-D15 fins. Had to take the GPU out and cooler off to remove it.

Cable management was pretty easy, surprisingly. Still could've done a bit better, but it'll do for now.

Really worried about the GPU intake though.....

Bought 3x Corsair ML140 (blue) fans, 1x Corsair ML120 (blue) fan, 3x NZXT AER140 RGB fans and NZXT Sentry 3 fan controller for my Haswell build. I also bought NZXT Internal USB hubs for my Skylake and Haswell builds.

Since i ran out of internal USB 2.0 headers on both builds, got internal USB hubs to solve the issue. Mounted both of them on the top of the HDD cages.
