Yeah that's pretty bad - but still pretty clean compared to some of the ones I have seen. I can guarantee I have seen worse than yours. I should go through and post some pictures.

I cleaned it out dust wise about 3 months ago knowing I was going to replace it. Normally did it about every 3 months or so because it got dusty inside.

oh no.. i be scared to turn on that optic drive, some big spider would jump on me ahaha..those things are the worst when you need to open something like that, in storage units i go for it but pc from the attic or basement no man just no xD

Haven't updated on this thread in awhile, and I've had a couple good projects going on. First, I'll go through some of the upgrades I've been doing to my personal build. Since I last updated, I ended up finally splurging on a new monitor. I got a 27" Dell 1440p 144hz G-SYNC from Best Buy (Got them to price match Fry's for $320)

I then slowly became less and less satisfied with my 1060's performance with the new monitor, and decided that a new GPU was in order. I sold my 1060 to a co-worker, and picked up a like-new 1070 off of a friend. I payed more than I would've liked, but with how prices are right now, not much I can do about that.

Last thing I did on my build was a new CPU cooler. Newegg ran a good deal on the Cryorig H7, and I decided I may as well get one. My CPU runs kinda hot anyway, and having the new cooler opens up the possibility of overclocking in the future as well.

As far as other projects, I recently snagged a great deal on a Dell Poweredge R610. dual Xeon 5504 processors, 64 gigs of ram (All 16 gig sticks), 3 300gb 10k SAS drives, and 3 1tb sata drives. I got the whole thing for $150. Don't have any big plans for it at the moment, I've got server 2016, so I'll probably just install some basic server roles and maybe create a mock enterprise domain to mess around in.

And lastly, my little sister had been saving for months to start buying pc parts, and little does she know, I'm already building a rig for her for Christmas. I picked up a used Dell Optiplex with an i5 4570, 8 gigs of ram and a 500 gig hard drive for $130. I already ordered a new PSU, and a 1050, and will be picking up a new case for her as well.

And that is what I've been up to the past few months. 2k monitor, 1070, Cryorig h7, R610, and a build to introduce my lil sis to the world of PCs.

Got a Zotac GTX 1060 3GB for my brother:

And Oculus CV1; though I know VR is still quite (re: almost nada) limited in terms of AAA quality games, couldn't resist for X: Rebirth VR.

Not a real visual difference, nor an upgrade I needed....but still.

PSU upgrade.
SuperNOVA B2 750W to SuperNOVA G2 550W.

Cable management needs a little bit of work (tough in such a small case) but I'll deal with that better over the holidays.

Good question.
It is a great unit, yeah.

Basically, a combination of factors.
1. A great sale ($80 CAD which *never* happens! Typically you have to pay >$130 for a quality unit)
2. I like to have a good PSU onhand for troubleshooting other systems, I just sold my main backup PSU and the G2 was too good to just leave it boxed.
3. I have a 4790 and a GTX 1060 3GB, so the 750W unit was wasted anyway (although, so is the 550W arguably).
4. Being fully modular and shorter, I can work my cable management a bit better (when I tear it down). The B2, with the hard-wired 24 pin and EPS were impacting the HDD bays

So I got the S340 unboxed. It's really nice. Size wise it's not too different than the H440. The glass is real glass and I'm very paranoid about breaking it or scratching it. The purple is not too obnoxious - it is a very nice shade of purple that is easy on the eyes. And the cable management system is very nice. NZXT definitely thought this one through.
