Shuts down when i put hard disk

My computer shuts down when I put second sata hard disks....pleasee helpp..

Umm, are you putting the second disk in while the system is running? In that case, some motherboards don't support hot-plugging. What motherboard do you have?

If you are putting in the second disk with the system off, please explain further.

I am reminded of the story of the man who told the doctor "It hurts when I do this." The doctor said, "Don't do that."

Internal or external?

If internal, does "shut down" mean that the computer doesn't power up?

What happens when you press the power button on your case? Do the fans kick once and then stop?

hi,
i'm experiencing the same thing. i plugged in my internal hard drive while my pc is on, then my computer turned off, i tried to turn it on but i just wont start

I suspect that your drive has a shorted TVS diode. If so, then there is often an easy, no cost DIY fix.
