[citation][nom]xi0s[/nom]Nearly 7 years ago I ordered a custom $2000 CyberPower PC thanks to Toms Hardware's insight on parts. I remember that gleaning beauty with the latest and greatest FX-51 and ASUS 9800 XT. Sadly less than two weeks after I received it I was robbed at gunpoint by strangers that came in my front door and took my amazing new PC. All that's left of it is a the red front cover plate I had stored away along with some other spare parts, and my invoice email, and an investigator without any good leads. Oh how I wish I could see it again. So in an attempt to be witty I will submit my 48 core poem that was was meant to win a 48 core pc but unfornately didn't happen. Maybe I'll get lucky, maybe I'll make someone laugh, but here goes...Hope Is Forty Eight and EverSo I’m sitting here sippin on my route 44, thinkin about the world and 48 cores. What shall I do? I think I have slight a clue, as I once pondered the meaning behind the mysterious Forty-Two.Add six more and I think there's a solution in store. Don't forget, the world still has cancer. Or that a your greatest enemy is only yourself, and to that I shall fold proteins to find answers, even if I'm not a super computer, just another person processing biological problems at a continuous canter.Indeed this powerful piece of engineering really has me going, without fearing. There are many thing's I can revive, passions of mine, deep down inside.I always thought a movie or two would be an interesting pursuit. With each idea, each render, rest assured there's enough core's to create it asunderThis is something I can appreciate to no extent, as time is saved is time well spent.Though sometimes we must splurge and enjoy some games, I must relent. In fact I can do all of them together, like a symphony of birds flocking through the weatherYet as quiet as blowing air upon a feather.I look around even in silence, there’s much more to be found.Look there’s more cores, thus I must do more, for there are many, many unopened doors. When I think about this opportunity, I think not about the rich, but of the poor.As it is in this world many people suffer, a sad fact that makes me wonder. There must be a way to help end our plight, mankind must innovate, we must unite!I say Artificial Intelligence is the path to the light, robot's can help us do right. But this feat of modern creation requires calculated simulationOur own brains must be studied, analyzed and modeled. With so much power sitting in this amd tower, I think the task is genuinely of the hour. This I can do within a program, over the internet, and a 48 core, nothing more.I'll save my sanity, my dreams, and a take the chance to help humanityIf I had a dollar for every core I used to help someone poor, I'd multiply it by a factor of fourAnd donate the money, not because I'm clever whatsoeverBut always remembering that my parents taught me... hope is forever.[/citation]

You got too much time on your hand.

did such technology exist 7 years ago?

Well, the 1TB HDD could store a lot of "luck" 😉

[citation][nom]f-14[/nom]"we'll look through the comments for smart and witty posters"ahahahahaaaa guess that means me and over half of you guys are out :*(too bad , nice rig cyber power put together tho[/citation]

lol what happened to the days of random giveaways that they could pick someone at random and say that someone won but not really send anything cuz it was random and there really was no winner but they said there was but there really wasnt andso they just got a whole bunch of entries for the heck of it and there werent any winners but the people thought they had an equal chance for a prize that didnt exist?

run-ons... i love you.

heres the thing thats funny. tom's actually asking for witty comments... now everyones just forcing em.

true trolling genious happens on its own.

The AZZA Hurricane 2000 Gaming Chassis look really cool i wish i can have one of those it even comes with my favorite color light Blue! pretty nasty system

[citation][nom]Poisoner[/nom]Well, I don't know if anyone has pointed these thing out, but I will try to make this with as much "wit and smarts" as possible. Anyways, this ring sounds nice on paper, but if I were to win this, I'd immediately take it apart. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I will start with the power supply. You don't need 800 watts to run a PC with a GTX 460 when you have a name brand power supply. So I would immediately rip that junk out and slap in my 750w Corsair. The i7 940 is nice and the higher multiplier will lead to easier overclocking. Well, I really can't say anything nicer than that. Lets just say if I won this computer, I'd rip it apart and keep the good stuff.[/citation]

Why dismember something so beautiful powerful? I think it's great how it is? The whole point of getting a configured computer from Cyberpower is so that you don't have to worry about compatibility. I myself have been building machines since 1994 but you get tired of the trips back and forth to the store and returning/exchanging components. I can tell you, that one time when i was building one PC...i change my graphics card 5 times. It started from a $50 video card and ended up with a $400 video card. Leave the machine as is.

Nay, the 48 core was in regards to something more recent. 😛

[citation][nom]xnashx[/nom]You got too much time on your hand.[/citation]

I only spent about 15 minutes making it. Never too much for a worthy cause.

I just registered my account and for some reason I'm not getting my confirmation email. Tried both my hotmail and then changing to my fastmail account. Anyone else having a similar issue?

I hope they wouldn't. but I guess I couldn't be too mad if they did. Unless it's all water-cooled (GPU included), then I might be a bit upset if parts go missing.

That case looks pretty nice. It got a lot of air flow and it can fit a 240mm radiator. Also the hard drive ports are extra plus and I like that power supply is on the bottom.

[citation][nom]joytech22[/nom]Oh man it's never outside America.. i mean can't toms just "Pay" for the shipping? it's meant to be a competition after all..[/citation]

haha it has to do with legal issues, not shipping costs. Besides, if they were sending you a fancy desktop for free, why would you also ask them to pay for its shipping? I'd offer to pay it myself and then take the Tom's Hardware staff out for drinks

That's is what I was thinking...

Intel has slashed the price of the Core i7 950 from $562 to $294
and the I7 930 is $290 in newegg and and the i7 940 is $699
on amazon, shouldn't the 940/940 be cheaper? when the 950 is 599 on newegg
