I've a VGA monitor. I'm thinking of buying new graphic card. That graphic card has HDMI port. So, if I use HDMI to VGA converter, will there be any signal loss?
As you guys know that, VGA work on analog signal and HDMI only uses 0 or 1.
[One more question]
My motherboard can provide 4K thru HDMI, so can I see 4K contents, if I use HDMI to VGA cable?

What do you mean by Active adapter?

An active adapter actively converts analog to digital. If it doesn't say active, it's not going to be active. And since these are cheap parts sold cutrate, not all that claim to be active actually are. Look for a converter that is powered as in connecting to a USB port for power as those have the highest probability of being effectively.

OK! Thanks for clarifying further! So, are you sure that there won't be any signal loss if I use Active adapter (From HDMI to VGA; digital to analog)?

There's always going to be some signal loss. How good it looks depends on how good the adapter's circuitry is. The best long-term solution will be a monitor that takes digital signals.
