Silent pump/res for Corsair 500R/Bitefnix Prodigy

Hi guys!

I earlier received your help and got a XSPC Res/pump combo. Unfortunately, it's faulty and therefore EXTERMELY loud. I can't live with it anymore.

The situation as of now is that I have a Corsair 500R. In some months I'm gonna purchase a Bitefnix prodigy, and would therefore like the pump and res to be compatible with both.

I know space is tight in the prodigy, so I'd like some suggestions on what would be available.

Current loop, aside from pump and res: cpu + 240mm rad.
Loop I'm going to be cooling later: 240mm + 200mm + cpu + gpu.

I'd be very happy to go up a few degrees to get a more silent pump. Silence is definitely the most important factor.

TLDR: Best pump/res for prodigy/500r thats cooling 240mm + 200m + cpu + gpu - SILENCE IS EVERYTHING.

PS: I'm gonna look into overclocking, probably around 4.5 ghz and 10-15% on the gpu. Woaa: it's probably a 770/780 when that time comes.
 
I have had a D5 for around 7 years and it's still very quiet. I have to turn my fans off to even hear it hum. Noise is a bit difficult to nail down for each person since everyone perceives noise levels differently based on ability to define sound in their ear as well as acceptable ambient noise.
 


That's very true. Do you think that I could fit it in both the cases along with a reservoir?
 
I have a D5 and its set to 1, even when I had my rad/res uptop to ear level while flushing/testing I couldn't hear it, furthermore getting it upto 5 on the speed dial gave off a hum(after all the bubbles were out of the system)...so the question is, have you primed the loop/pump properly?

^ not underestimating you, just that some people forget lil details when under pressure.

And if you're thinking of watercooling the Bitfenix Prodigy case, might want to log onto OCN's Bitfenix Prodigy club - there are alot of people watercooling that lil sucker, however with the amount of bends inside that case, I think turning the pump up will add heat to your loop and ofc more stress on the pump.
 
Like I said too many bends in there... follow the Prodigy thread and you'll understand where my concern comes from.

Its like you're creating a problem and then you're trying to solve it. Whats wrong with solving the problem (inside the case) without introducing a problem? :)
 


Not at all. Just going over the options, I'd be happy to hear about any other possibility. Also reading the thread tight now.
 
Working my way trough the 400 pages I see many people using the Laing ddc. However, reading about it, I hear many people say that it's loud - is that so? I guess I could run it at low speeds as my loop isn't very restrictive at all.

Would I actually need the top also when using that res solution? Would this combination work, would it be quiet and finally: would it fit? Thanks alot! :)
 
Found that the 350 instead of the 355 is much quieter - will it be able to run cpu, gpu and 2 rads?

How do I use" EK Water Blocks EK-D5 X-RES 100 CSQ - Acetal" with the d5 motor only? That is, these two items:

Obviously there are still pumps that are more noisy than others.
 
Well, I think I've come to the cunclusion that I'm getting a d5 with the top/res from EK. It looks really good, and from what I hear people saying it's quiet and has good flow.

Question: Will I need anything besides the following items to mount the d5 on the hdd rack?:

^ Just to be on the safe side, from now, you might want to see what testers like Stren, Martinsliquidlab and Skinee(I can't name the rest now) have to say about the pump...and ofc there are various pump tops for the pumps so that will also change your flow and head pressure.

That mounting kit is not just limited to the HDD area...
 


So what you're saying is basically that I'll be able to fit the combo in both cases if I undertsand you correctly? :)
