Simple AMD K5 legacy question

Is my old K5-166Mz CPU MMX Compatible? I'm assuming this means does it include the MMX instruction set.

This is a requirement for a modem I'm looking to purchase: 56K (V.90, Kflex56) Internal PCI Voice/Fax Modem / Rockwell Chipset (MMX Compatible CPU only)

I would suggest you to try a program like CPUID that can tell you if your processor supports MMX or not.

Hi, Yeah your chip is O.K. for the modem but you should understand that you are at the minimum of the requirments for the modem.

AMD K5 does not have MMX instructions.
(Look at CPU Guide on TOMSHARDWARE )
and try some cpuid program to be shure
